Elon Musk discusses comments on Texas shooting

Elon Musk offered his support to Russell Brand as the comedian took to all his social media platforms including X, formerly known as Twitter, to refute “serious allegations made against him.

Last night the 48-year-old actor and TV personality posted a three-minute video to his YouTube channel, in which he spoke about “aggressive attacks” being made against him.

In it, he claimed he had received an “extremely disturbing” letter and email from a mainstream media TV company and a newspaper listing “a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks.

“Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque, attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute,” he stated.

Russell also slammed mainstream media and alleged there was a “coordinated media attack”, “like with Joe Rogan, when he dared to take a medicine that the mainstream media didn’t approve of”.

When he shared the video to X, Elon was amongst the first to respond commenting: “Of course. They don’t like competition.”

In the clip, Russell explains the allegations concern a time years ago when he was working in movies and the mainstream media.

“These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I’ve written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous,” he says.

“During that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent. And I’m being transparent about it now as well.

“And to see that transparency metastasise into something criminal that I absolutely deny makes me question if there is another agenda at play.”

Earlier this week Elon himself came under fire when he refused to respond to claims he has enabled Vladimir Putin and cost lives in Ukraine when he was challenged by a reporter.

Satellite terminals donated by Musk have become vital to Ukraine’s military communications. However, the tech entrepreneur has faced criticism for refusing to allow his Starlink internet system to be used by Ukrainian armed forces to conduct long-range offensive strikes.

The refusal enraged officials in Kyiv, who have blamed Musk for the deaths of children and for “committing evil”.

On Tuesday (September 12) the billionaire owner of SpaceX, which operates Starlink satellites, appeared to shift the blame onto United States President Joe Biden.
