Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh gushes over EastEnders fiancé Toby-Alexander Smith on his birthday

Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh paid tribute to her EastEnders actor fiancee Toby-Alexander Smith to celebrate his birthday.

Amy, who earlier opened up on their wedding plans, has played Tracey Metcalfe since 2014 alongside Emmerdale regulars such as Danny Miller, Matthew Wolfenden, and Charley Webb.

She took to Instagram on Monday to celebrate Toby's 32nd birthday with a host of loved-up pictures from their four-year relationship, which began when they got chatting in the audience for Strictly Come Dancing.

Fans will recognise Toby as bad boy Gray Atkins in EastEnders, but he has also starred in Doctors, Flack, and the superhero show Krypton.

One picture showed Toby planting a cheeky kiss on Amy’s cheek, while the next featured the couple during a party as they sipped bubbly.

Amy also included photos from various holidays over the years, and the couple could be seen enjoying the sun with their one year old daughter, Bonnie Mae Smith.

In the caption, Amy, who is the sister of Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, wrote: “Happy birthday beautiful man! Inside and out. The day I found you was the day it all made sense.

"I feel so unbelievably lucky to get to spend my life with you. Bring on the wedding!!!! Love you @toby_alexander_smith.”

The birthday post has since received 8,000 likes, with many of their friends taking to the comments to share in the celebration.

Lorraine Stanley, who has played Karen Taylor in the BBC's EastEnders since 2017, wrote: “Happy birthday @toby_alexander_smith love ya man!!!”

Amy Wyatt actress Natalie Ann Jamison also wrote: “Happy Birthday Toby!!”

“Happy birthday to my birthday twin! Have a fab day Toby,” wrote Coronation Street actress Michelle Hardwick as Waterloo Road’s Fiona Wade added: “Ahh you gorgeous two!! Happy Birthday Toby!! Hope you’re having a lovely day love from us!”

This comes after Amy told OK! that motherhood is way harder than it looks despite feeling that she’d prepared for the role by being a “second mum” to her nephews.

She explained: “I’m like a second mum to my nephews. I’ve always been really hands-on with them so I thought I had a clue but it’s been way harder than I imagined.

“She was uncomfortable with her tummy too and we didn’t know why until we found out she had a milk intolerance.

"All that teamed with pure exhaustion and sleep deprivation was really tough,” she added, also noting how they discovered Bonnie was tongue-tied and had a milk intolerance.

She continued: “I didn’t leave the house for eight months, barely, and if I did it’d be a couple of hours close by so I could rush home if she needed me.

“Everyone was telling me, “Once you get to six months you’ll be fine,” but at six months it was still really hard.

"I did a postnatal depression storyline as Tracy while I was pregnant and did loads of research, but I still didn’t know what I was walking into. I was like, 'Wow, this is hard'.”
