Euphoria’s Angus Cloud was ‘celebratory and uplifting’ towards friends in the days leading up to his death aged 25 – despite his mental health struggles

Euphoria’s Angus Cloud was ‘celebratory and uplifting’ towards his friends just days before he died aged 25. 

Angus died at the age of 25 on Monday, July 31 at his family home in Oakland, California – after he struggled with the loss of his father Conor, who died in May following a brief cancer battle, his family told TMZ.

Angus’s mother Lisa, who called 911, reported it as a ‘possible overdose.’

Despite any struggles Angus may have faced before his death, it didn’t affect his mood while he was with this closest mates.

Friends have said he was ‘offering them support’ and outwardly celebratory at the MacArthur Maze album release party held on Friday.

Angus attended to support the band just three days before his death, according to group members D.Bledsoe and Champ Green, who spoke to TMZ. 

The rappers said that he was congratulating everyone involved in the album.

And even though he was getting a lot of attention from fellow attendees, he wasn’t there for that, he just wanted to show the band some love.

D.Bledose told the site that Angus had to soothe his lips with lip balm mid-conversation that night at the party. 

He recalled that he had laughed and apologized for making things awkward. But he said it was a funny interaction.

As well as turning up to the event, Angus endorsed the band by sharing one of their videos on his Instagram. 

It’s understood that Angus messaged the group directly to offer to shoot a music video for them, alongside MacArthur Maze’s videographer, who was close friends with Angus. 

Angus’s co-star Zendaya, 26, has since broken her silence one day after the sudden and tragic passing of Angus.

The actress shared a poignant message about her late co-star, along with a black and white image of him.

‘Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor). I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it),’ the 26-year-old actress wrote in her Instagram caption shared Tuesday afternoon.

‘I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love… “they could light up any room they entered” but boy let me tell you. He was the best at it. I’d like to remember him that way. For all of the boundless light, love and joy he always managed to give us. I’ll cherish every moment,’ she added.

She concluded: ‘My heart is with his mother and family at this time and please be kind and patient as grief looks different for everyone.’ 

Angus, born Conor Angus Cloud (named after his father Conor Cloud), played the character Fezco on Euphoria from 2019 until 2022.

Zendaya plays Ruby ‘Rue’ Bennett on the show, with Sydney playing Cassie Howard.

Angus’ family announced his death via TMZ, revealing he died in his family’s home in Oakland on Monday.

He had been battling ‘severe suicidal thoughts’ after his burying his father in Ireland the week prior.

The actor was staying with his family as he tried to cope with his grief, the outlet said. 

His mom called 911 at around 11:30 am Monday morning reporting a ‘possible overdose,’ with Oakland PD and the Fire Department responding. 

She had reported said he had no pulse, with the actor pronounced dead at the scene when responders arrived.

Angus’s family confirmed his death in a statement on Monday afternoon.

‘It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a on, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,’ his family told the outlet. 

‘Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,’ the statement continued. 

‘Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. 

‘We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss,’ the statement concluded.
