Sarah Ferguson turns 63 today Saturday (15 October) and in beautiful new pictures, she is seen playing with the Queen's corgis, after she and her ex-husband Prince Andrew took them into their care following Her Majesty's death on 8 September.
Taking to Instagram, the Duchess of York labelled the corgis as the "presents that keep giving" as she was pictured lying on grass in the sun with the dogs.
The celebratory update on the Queen's beloved companions, Sandy and Muick, has delighted royal fans.
In the photos, Sarah could be seen stroking one of the corgis beneath the chin as she wore a dark green velvet coat and a green and red scarf. The Duchess also wore her auburn locks loose as he enjoyed the company of her new playful pooches.
She captioned the post: "The presents that keep giving." The post saw fans flock to the comments section to wish her a happy birthday.
One person commented: "Happy Birthday, Duchess. So glad can see The Queen's corgies with you."
Another agreed, writing: "I'm so glad they are with you."
A third said: "Lovely to see the corgis are being loved and happy."
And a fourth gushed: "My heart melts at this… Its a lovely sight to see Sarah. Its important that a pet gets a home after it's care giver passes. And yours is a true honour. What a beautiful gift of trust to you."
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Sarah spoke about what life is like now she is responsible for the corgis.
She told the publication that it was a "big honour", adding that she saw the pups as "national treasures" who had been "taught well".
Sarah isn't unfamiliar with caring for dogs, with Sandy and Muick moving in with her five Norfolk terriers.
Discussing how the corgis have got on with her five other dogs, she said: "They all balance out, the carpet moves as I move but I’ve got used to it now."
Along with another Corgi named Fergus, Muick was gifted to the Queen by Prince Andrew during lockdown last year. The royal bought his mother two new pups in an effort to distract her whilst Prince Philip was in hospital.
When Fergus sadly passed in May 2021, the late monarch was reportedly left "devastated".
Her granddaughters Princess Eugenie and Beatrice then gifted her another corgi for her 95th birthday, and she named the puppy Sandy.
During the Queen's funeral, Sandy and Muick were seen lining up to say farewell to the late monarch in a poignant appearance as the procession arrived in Windsor from London.
