Gemma Collins thought she was having a heart attack as she breaks silence on hospital dash

Earlier today (February 7) Gemma Collins shared that she had been forced to call an ambulance to her Essex home in the middle of the night.

Taking to Instagram, the former TOWIE star, 42, posted a snap of paramedics in her kitchen, with equipment spread out on the floor. Over this, she wrote: "Thank you to all the amazing people that helped me this evening," with an ambulance emoji and a red heart emoji.

And a second photo showed the ambulance parked outside, to which she added:. "I really hope you get all your deserve," alongside a red heart emoji.

Hours later, Gemma shared a video revealing the reason for her late night hospital dash.

Posting to her Instagram Story she said: "Just to say thank you for all your messages and well wishes. I had a terrible shock last night.

"I had terrible chest pains and I thought I was having a heart attack but thank god, it wasn't that. I will go into it all later but I just want to say thank you for your well wishes. The NHS were absolutely incredible.

"I had nothing but such a great experience with them, and I really hope they get all their pay rises, they work so hard. I am just very happy to have not died from a heart attack last night. But, onwards and upwards. I will report back later."

The TV star's health scare comes just a couple of weeks after she celebrated her 42nd birthday, along with a number of her celeb pals.

Celebrating her birthday in style, Gemma donned a chic black mesh jumpsuit, which featured a pink feather trim, and which she paired with a statement pink headpiece.

Gemma posed for snaps with a number of her celeb guests, including The X Factor stars Jedward.

Following her birthday celebrations, Gemma opened up about facing online trolls since becoming famous, revealing that she was once forced to call the police after an anonymous troll threatened to break her jaw if they ever saw her in the street.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Gemma Collins podcast, she said: "I don't give a s**t what people think of me. That comes with age, when I was a bit younger I was probably a bit bothered and people used to troll me.

"I was shocked. I was deleting messages on my phone because I thought, 'new year, new messages.' Someone had messaged me saying, 'You are one ugly, fat b***h. If I see you in the street I'm going to break your jaw.'

Explaining what happened next, the TV star continued: "I did contact the police, because no one should be messaging that and clearly that person is not in a sane mind if he's messaging that to me. Who else is he messaging it to?"
