Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers has been left heartbroken following the death of his cousin, who he described as "like a big brother" in a touching tribute.
Aaron, 36, who found fame on the MTV reality show but has since gone on to pursue a career as a professional MMA fighter, took to Instagram on Wednesday, 29 November, to announce the passing of his cousin Courtney Clift.
The dad-of-three shared a string of photographs of him with Courtney as he told fans: "They won’t be another like you big C. Still can’t believe I’m writing this and that im never going to be able to pick up phone or see you to get your advice!!"
Aaron went on to add: "Literally like my big brother more than my cousin!! You’ve left a big hole in many of us but 1 thing is for sure you lived your life to the absolute fullest and I know you’ll always be looking down on us
"Until we meet again cuz rest easy up there big man," with a red heart emoji. His followers flocked to share their support with many of his Geordie Shore co-stars sending well wishes.
Kyle Christie wrote: "Sorry for your's and the families loss mate thinking of you all," and James Tindale added: "Thinking of you all through this mate x," while Gaz Beadle left a heart emoji under the post.
Fans also shared support, with one penning: "Devastated for the Clift family and all his friends, sending all our love," while a second said: "Sorry for your loss aaron may he rest in peace. Sending love xx".
Aaron, who shares three sons with ex girlfriend Talia Oatway, also took to his Stories to pen another tribute and share more photos of his much-loved cousin.
The 36 year old wrote: "I'll never ever forget that face and that smile Courtney!! I'm absolutely devastated. You made sure you were always at eery fight and always told me how it was weather I liked it or not sleep tight.
"When I say you lived your life you were the man I looked up to and wanted to be!! I wanted to make you proud. I know your going to be watching over me and Tez and every1 who loved you cuz."
Aaron found fame on Geordie Shore when he joined the cast in 2014. He remained on the MTV show for eight series and also starred on Ex on the Beach in 2017.
He went on to pursue a career in MMA and boxing, but retired in 2021. Aaron also appeared in MTV series Geordie Shore OGs, alongside other fellow ex-cast members.
