Holly Willoughby praised by Kerry Katona months after savage digs

This Morning: Holly Willoughby returns

Kerry Katona has praised Holly Willoughby’s appearance after she recently took to the red carpet.

The This Morning graced the red carpet at the National Television Awards 2023 (NTAs) on September 5 in a stunning lilac gown which saw the 42-year-old make the best-dressed list.

Writing in her latest column for OK! magazine, Kerry, 43, shared some kind words as she gushed over the ITV favourite.

“The National Television Awards took place last week and everyone looked amazing. I saw so many good outfits,” she wrote.

“I particularly loved Holly Willoughby’s – I have to give it to her, she looked incredible.”

Kerry added: “Danielle Harold looked stunning too. I’ve never seen EastEnders, but I loved her outfit. I wasn’t too keen on Stacey Solomon’s dress. She looked great, but it’s really not to my taste.”

Her comments come just weeks after the mum-of-five took aim at Holly after it was reported the ITV presenter could make a move to the BBC.

It was previously revealed in July that the This Morning host is being “lined up” for Strictly Come Dancing, with bosses keen to lure her away from ITV.

A source previously told MailOnline of the Glitter Ball plot and said: “Holly is the golden goose. BBC bosses want her and they have been plotting for some time to get her for their big shows.

“They know how popular she is, but it also has to be the right programme.”

Kerry dismissed the idea and suggested regular hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were the right duo for the gig.

Writing in her new! Magazine column at the time, she said: “I don’t think that’s fair on current presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. They’re great at it.

“They can’t be swapped out! I think Holly would be great as a contestant instead. I’d be up for doing Strictly, too. Maybe one day!”

Strictly’s head judge Shirley Ballas previously shut down the rumours, telling Express.co.uk: “Take that with a pinch of salt if you ask me!

“I’m sure I’ll hear very soon when something happens like that because they make an announcement or tell me and then I do the media. But no, I haven’t heard anything about that.”

Kerry also hit out at Holly when she returned to This Morning after a short break in June in the wake of Phillip Schofield’s scandal, where he admitted to an “unwise but not illegal affair” with a younger male colleague.

Holly delivered a speech amid her former co-star’s departure which Kerry claimed “no one believes” adding it was “soulless”.

She added the speech was “heartless” before calling for the presenter’s departure from This Morning.

Holly later released a statement, insisting she did not know about the affair and had asked Phil about it in the past, and he had denied anything was happening. She released a message on social media to say she was hurt to find out she had been lied to.
