HUGE ITV show ‘AXED’ after six years despite star-studded line-up as ‘demand for talent shows dwindles’

The Voice Kids has been axed from ITV amid a decline in demand for talent shows.

Bosses confirmed the programme would not return next year, with the final of the seventh series airing two weeks ago.

First broadcast in 2017, the programme invited children between the ages of seven and 14 to show off their singing skills in front of a national television audience.

The team behind the smash-hit show decided it was time to wave goodbye to the spinning red chairs and focus on new projects.

A source told The Sun: ‘The show had a good run and had its own fanbase, but execs are keen to free up scheduling space for other new programming to keep ideas as fresh as possible.’
