Gena Tew, who recently clarified rumors linking her to Chris Brown and Nick Cannon, says she has her vision partially restored after undergoing a successful procedure on her eyes.

AceShowbiz –Gena Tew is literally seeing the light amid her fight to stay alive. The Instagram model has shared positive updates on her health journey after she was diagnosed with AIDS, which had been left untreated for years.

In an interview with TMZ, Gena revealed that she has regained some of the vision she lost after her diagnosis. The social media star said she underwent a successful procedure on her eyes on Thursday, August 18 in Memphis.

Prior to the surgery, she couldn’t see anything at all. Gena said it’s not guaranteed that she’ll get all her vision back and that she will still have to wear glasses, but she considers asking if she can get laser treatment to improve her vision.

Gena additionally revealed that she has been gaining weight. At her sickest, she dropped to only 65 pounds, but she has been putting weight back and now weighs at 94, which is close to her normal weight of around 95-98 pounds.

Overall, Gena believes that things will only get better. “It’s slowly progressing. But it’s happening and I just can’t rush it,” she added. “But I can see things are just going to get better from here. I can only go up.”

While Gena admitted that she doesn’t have life expectancy, she shared that her condition can be maintained with medication. She also said that she has been studying again as she plans “to have a future. I don’t plan in this situation forever.”

Gena made headlines back in July when she revealed her AIDS diagnosis on TikTok. In a video posted on the platform, she revealed that she nearly died after unknowingly living with AIDS for nearly a decade.

Gena, who confessed that she doesn’t know how she got AIDS, opened up, “In that time frame, I was living New York City and was homeless, I did get raped a couple of times but it’s not something I like to talk about, I have had a couple free tattoos so it could have been a dirty needle, I don’t know.”

The Brooklyn-based model has also addressed rumors linking her to a number of famous stars, namely Chris Brown, Nick Cannon and Chief Keef. “I keep seeing that now and I’m like, ‘Wow, I was wondering where the Chris Brown thing came from…,’ ” she said during an interview with blogger Tasha K. She added, “Even if I messed with anyone in this industry I wouldn’t put their names out there like that.”
