Jess Wright praised by fans as she shows off ‘real skin’ in candid post

Jess Wright has been incredibly honest about her battle with psoriasis and has now shared a picture of her 'real skin' on Instagram, following a recent flare up.

The star, who originally appeared on The Only Way Is Essex, posted an image of the skin condition covering her arms and legs, while wearing a short black dress.

The 37-year-old mum captioned the post, "this is me," and used the hashtag of 'psoriasisawarenessmonth'. Psoriasis is a condition that causes red and crusty patches of skin.

Fans were quick to praise her sincerity and said: "This has made me so emotional! I have forever hated my psoriasis and am forever trying to cover it up and treat it! Thank you for sharing and spreading awareness."

Another applauded her for the decision to share her experience: "This will help so many others be confident and proud of their skin."

A third echoed: "Thank you for showing your real skin, it makes such a difference for breaking down the shame and stigma associated with a visible skin condition."

But it wasn't only admirers that led the way, as her celeb friends also showed their support.

Fellow TOWIE star Gemma Collins commented: "Your a knock out model Jess," while Ferne McCann wrote, "Inspiration."

This isn't the first time that Jess, who is the sister of Mark Wright, has been open about her struggles as she recently posted a lengthy message to fans on Instagram.

The star claimed that it has become worse after lowering her medication to treat the condition.

Taking to social media, Jess wrote: "In November I went to a specialist and I was put on a form of medication in the hope that it would stop it in its tracks, calm it down and then when I came off the meds after around a year, it wouldn't be as aggressive."

"This medication cleared nearly all my psoriasis which was wonderful for a little while, however side effects of the meds started to creep in and become more evident which didn't make me feel great and then when I tried lowering the dose, the psoriasis started to come back with a vengence."

She continued: "It's actually, I'd say on a par with how it was before, if not worse. And it's actually really sore. So frustrating."
