Jessica Chastain's family never noticed she dropped out of high school, more news
No high school drama

Jessica Chastain’s family was so invested in her younger sister’s drug addiction issues that no one even noticed when the future Oscar winner dropped out of high school and didn’t graduate. “I dropped out of high school. In my family, no one stopped me, no one was like, you can’t be an actor. But I’m sure they’d rather I’d fallen in love with being a dentist,” she told The Guardian newspaper. At that time, Jessica’s sister, who ended up taking her own life in 2003, was getting all the family attention, leaving everyone stressed. “When I didn’t graduate, no one even noticed,” the “Molly’s Game” star said. “Yeah. It wasn’t even a conversation of, ‘Uh, are we going to your graduation?’ Nothing.” Jessica was raised by her grandmother and mother, who was very young. Although the actress dropped out of El Camino Fundamental High School in Sacramento, Calif., she ended up getting an adult diploma. She also took classes at a city college before going to art school. In 2003, she graduated from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City.

Smooch city

Ellen Pompeo is kissing and telling. Over the course of her 19 seasons on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Ellen has been able to share a smooch with some dashing gentlemen. On Tuesday, Dec. 13, she spoke to Drew Barrymore about who the best kisser of them all was. “Listen, you know I love Patrick Dempsey. I love him and him and we had a great time together and I also love Scott Speedman my current love.” Drew, it seems, is partial to Scott, as she spoke of how “fun” he is. Ellen chimed in, “Speedman is hot. Speedman is very hot.” One thing that’s not up for debate: Ellen seems to be the real winner in all of this.

American action

Stifler’s mom was busy after “America Pie.” After Jennifer Coolidge played the attractive  mother to Steven Stifler in the 1999 movie, her sex life took off. “American Pie’ was just — it helped my dating life in a way that I can’t ever explain,” she told Ariana Grande for Entertainment Weekly. “If I hadn’t had that movie, I don’t think … Well, let’s just say it would’ve been a very dull decade.” Although she didn’t detail exactly who many men pursued her after the role, she admitted that it did “open up” opportunities with “handsome” and “younger” men (although she didn’t sleep with “200 people” as she once claimed.) In one case, the “White Lotus” star recalled needing a hair appointment but not knowing where to go. So, she asked the man she was in bed with if he had any recommendations… That man proceeded to call his mom. “This one guy was particularly young — legal, of course, it was all very legal — but it was funny because we had to … The one moment was a little bit awkward because he … I won’t get into the details,” she said. “But afterwards, the next morning, I told him I needed to get a blow dry. So he was so young, we called his mother to see where I could get a blow dry.” She continued, “It was so weird that happened on the phone; it was very clear that we were in the bed together.” It all worked out, too. “She gave me a good recommendation at a local mall,” Jennifer said.

Intentional memory issues

Chad Michael Murray has forgotten where he came from. The actor rose to fame on CW’s “One Tree Hill” in the mid-2000s, but he pretty much remembers none of his time there, which is intentional.  “It’s a section of my life that I deleted,” he said, adding that he’s had “a lot of growth as a human being” since then. In comparing the brain to computer hard drives, he explained that “OTH” doesn’t resonate with him anymore. “I’m probably like, you know when you get an iPhone that holds like 264 gigs: I’m down on a 32 gig phone because of old information, so booting everything up. So I think I’m deathly afraid,” he said. Chad, though, does often speak to his old CW costars.

Battle building

Leonard Cohen’s children are battling with their father’s lawyer for control over his multimillion dollar estate. According to the New York Post, Adam Cohen and Lorca Cohen want to remove Robert Kory as a trustee, but the attorney is fighting back, claiming their father wanted him in charge. Before the “Hallelujah” singer passed in 2016, he appointed Robert to oversee the estate and handle the royalties. The battle is nasty, as the children have accused Robert of forgery. The Cohen children say that their father “came to appreciate in his waning days that he had made a grave error by allowing Kory to insinuate himself into Leonard’s affairs and take control over virtually every aspect of Leonard’s finances and legacy,” according to court papers. An attorney for the children also alleged that Robert and others “forged” documents to “fleece” millions from the estate. Robert vehemently denies any wrongdoing and argued that he’s kept the kids in the loop regarding the $48 million estate.

Dressing for her body

Lisa Kudrow can credit “Friends” and her costars with helping her understand her body more. “I thought I was just really skinny. I can do whatever, [but] no, especially in high school. And I look at pictures and say, ‘Wow, pictures really distort reality,'” she told the Podcrushed podcast in a resurfaced interview from this year. “And it wasn’t until Friends that I realized, ‘Oh, I don’t look like I thought I looked.’ And that’s what was so jarring, and that’s when it was like, ‘Oh, I’ve got to actually lose weight? I have to diet? Shoot.'” However, Lisa soon found out what models and actresses know: It’s all about the angles. “It was just seeing myself on the show and seeing myself in clothes and seeing Courteney and Jennifer in clothes,” she said. “And at first I thought, ‘Oh, because they know, like, tailoring, so they can discuss it with the costume designer about where, exactly, to take something in.” Her costars soon joined her for fittings. “That’s when I would see, ‘Oh, okay, it’s not just about tailoring…’ And I’m not trying to say I was overweight, either. I was not. I just had no idea the shape of my actual body,” Lisa said. “I just realized, ‘Oh no — it’s okay. This is just what I look like. That’s okay. Do what you need to do to be healthy but this is your body and it’s okay.'”
