Jonnie Irwin has shared a new update with fans after taking part in an at-home photoshoot and interview with his wife Jessica Holmes.
The former A Place in the Sun presenter, 49, shared behind the scenes photographs from the shoot on Instagram, revealing he'd enjoyed his day working from home and joked that he was hoping he hadn't "made of a total ass" of himself in the interview.
Dad-of-three Jonnie, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, could be seen sitting on a pouffe in his stylish living room as a photographer took professional shots of him, with Jessica then joining in.
"Spent much of the day posing and getting interviewed. I’ll let you know when it comes out once I’ve seen the copy to make sure I’ve not made a total ass of myself," Jonnie joked.
He continued: "Jess also got involved thankfully so st least there’s something attractive to look at! Probably my favourite shoot location for a while as I rolled out of bed and was ready to go! #onlocation #workfromhome."
Fans flocked to wish the TV presenter well, with one saying: "Nice to see you and your home is beautiful! Love all the windows and light coming in," and a second added: "Looking forward to seeing it. House looking fantastic- love that window."
A third fan penned: "You’re looking fabulous take care," with a red heart emoji.
In November 2022, Jonnie sadly revealed that his lung cancer had spread to his brain, two years after being diagnosed with the devastating disease. He's since been documenting his journey on social media, including the different treatments he's tried in a bid to treat his cancer and the memories he's been busy making with his family.
Jonnie has admitted that he hasn't told his three young sons – he and Jess share Rex, five, and three year old twins Cormac and Rafa – about his diagnosis, as he feels it would confuse them, especially his eldest son Rex.
"I keep being asked, 'Are you going to tell them?' but tell them what?" he told Hello! "It would be horrible news that they'd have to get their heads around. And it would confuse the hell out of Rex he's got a shocking enough day coming. Let's bury our heads in the sand for as long as possible."
Jonnie first realised he was ill in August 2020 while filming A Place in the Sun in Italy. His vision went blurry while driving a week after filming ended, which led him to see a doctor.
The tests showed that he had lung cancer, which had spread to his brain, and he likely had about six months left to live. "I had to go home and tell my wife, who was looking after our babies, that she was on her own pretty much. That was devastating. All I could do was apologise to her. I felt so responsible," he previously recalled.
