Kelis shares terrifying moment she and her kids ‘almost fell off a cliff’ in snowstorm

Singer Kelis was involved in a dangerous situation amid snowy weather in California this past weekend, as a vehicle she was driving her children in nearly careened off a cliff.

The Milkshake singer, 43, whose full name is Kelis Rogers-Mora, was on her way to bring her children to the snow, but soon found herself in a dangerous situation in the extreme weather conditions, with her car almost "falling off a cliff".

Kelis did not specify who was with her in the terrifying incident, but is mother to three children: son Knight, 13, with ex-husband Nas, son Shepherd, seven, and a daughter, two.

The singer, who recently lost her husband Mike Mora to cancer, said in the video: "Well here's the thing… My truck got stuck… it's, like, hanging."

She showed her vehicle at the edge of the cliff amid the snowy conditions and revealed how her tyres had become thick of snow. She continued: "Praise God the tow truck actually made it – we've been outside for a while."

In addition to the unprecedented amount of snow falling on the West Coast, Kelis said that conditions were even more dangerous due to dark conditions.

"I've got my light on, thank God, because it's pitch black out here," she said.

"Silver boots [for] a little reflective action. Things could be worse."

Captioning her video, she wrote: "My plan was to take the kids to the snow, but we almost fell off a cliff ! So make the best of what ya got, n always be prepared lol #bigbear #blizzard #snowstorm #rescue #fashion #grateful."

The Grammy-nominated artist, who wore heavy snowboarding gear with the rest of her family, said she was clad in "ridiculous rescue fashion" and was "wearing layers to keep warm."

She showed off her outfit which consisted of a puffy olive green coat with a thick chartreuse scarf, and brown snowboarding pants.

She showed off her heavily-layered snowboarding ensemble, which included a silver pair of Cougar snow boots.

One follower commented on the post saying: "Omg …. Not you almost falling off a cliff in style. it’s not even funny but I’m glad your smiling and making light of a scary situation. I hope the kids aren’t too shaken up. I would have been a nervous wreck"

Another penned: "Absolutely Prayerful that everyone is ok! My Goodness, how scary & it’s also good to have a sense of humor to ease the situation especially for the Bambino’s. Your utilitarian skills went into action."

And a third wrote: "OMG sis! So glad you and the kids are OK. We gotta protect you at all costs!"
