Louisa Lytton – ‘I can’t remember my life before my husband, Ben’

Louisa Lytton is set to take the stage in the touring production of the acclaimed supernatural thriller 2:22 A Ghost Story, and we catch up to find out how the EastEnders actress feels about it all.

Although she admits she'll undoubtedly miss her daughter Aura and husband Ben, the 34-year-old is excited to return to acting.

But Louisa also admits this career move wouldn't be possible without Ben by her side, who she lovingly describes as "supportive" and a "special person."

When the actress first met the 32-year-old businessman, however, love wasn't on her mind and, in fact, Louisa thought she'd never find someone.

“I’d just come out of a relationship and I remember saying I was never going to meet anyone ever again,” she says.

Louisa and Ben were introduced by a mutual friend in 2017 when she was on tour with Grease and they have been inseparable ever since.

She continues: "Ben changed everything within weeks. We were living together after a few months and now I really don’t remember my life before him. It feels like he’s always been there.

“My previous relationship had taught me who I was and shown me what I deserved and Ben is just such a special, genuine person."

They got engaged in 2019 and married in Tuscany last summer after Covid had twice forced them to cancel their wedding plans.

“We’d been planning on getting married and then trying for a baby. But with Covid, we never really knew when the rules would change so we just decided to do it the other way round.

“We thought we’d see what happened… and it happened! And it meant Aura was there at our wedding, which was lovely," Louisa says smiling.

And as for married life changing anything in their relationship, it's a hard no from the star who says 'nothing has changed at all."

“Maybe because we’d had a baby, we already felt like such a strong unit. Watching Ben with Aura has made me love him even more. He’s such an incredible dad and she loves him so much. And I’m very fortunate, especially with doing what I do, that he’s so supportive."

2:22 A Ghost Story will tour from 1 September until 1 June 2024
