Love Island ‘receives over 300 complaints from outraged viewers’ as fans accuse villa of ‘bullying’ Ron Hall over game plan remarks
Love Island has reportedly received hundreds of Ofcom complaints from furious viewers who felt Ron Hall was being bullied by his fellow islanders.
On Sunday, financial advisor Ron, 25, told some of his fellow Islanders how, having watched the show, hopeful winners got their ‘drama’ out the way earlier on in the series before sailing through to the final.
After some islanders interpreted Ron as saying this was his personal game plan, his comments were discussed at length by villa residents.
Acording to The Mirror, the scenes sparked 245 complaints to Ofcom on March 5, followed by another 57 complaints the following day, for a total of 302.
The islanders played the A Couple of Sorts challenge on Friday which saw the couples rank each other, causing tension among the group.

Drama: On Sunday, financial advisor Ron, 25, told some of his felow Islanders how, having watched the show, hopeful winners got their ‘drama’ out the way earlier on in the series before sailing through to the final
The challenge prompted Ron to think about what he thought of islanders whenever he watched the show as a viewer.
He said: ‘I thought the ones who have their drama nice and early and then get comfy and treat it like a holiday, they’re the ones who are probably like, they just cruise.
‘I can see why people probably thought, “Oh Lana and Ron are just cruising through.” I’m not bothered by any of that.
‘As I know I’m not, otherwise I never would have made her my girlfriend, it means too much to me.’
Samie Elishi took these comments to be an admission of a game plan which resulted in gossip around the villa.
On Monday, Ron took Samie aside as he felt she’d misunderstood what he’d said before passing his remarks to the others, with viewers claiming the show stars had ‘twisted’ his words.
And series devotees took to Twitter this week to show their support for Ron as they accused the Islanders of ‘bullying’ him.

‘They need to shut up n leave Ron alone,’ protested another viewer.
However, suspicious of Ron, another viewer posted: ‘If you’ve not got a game plan then why you so rattled Ron?’
While someone else shared: ‘Surely if you weren’t game playing you wouldn’t be bothered about anyone opinions….. trying too hard here Ron This clearly wasn’t in the game plan.’
It comes after Love Island fans were livid during Sunday night’s episode as they accused the contestants of trying to sabotage Ron and Lana.
Financial adviser Ron, 25, was seen confronting Shaq Muhammad, 24, after he queried whether Ron was being genuine with make-up artist Lana, 25.
The couple were left unimpressed after Shaq suggested they were in the top three most game-playing couples during the recent ranking challenge.
After chatting to Shaq, Ron was unable to drop the situation later in the episode, speaking to Tom, Samie, Kai and Sanam around the fire pit.
In doing so he said felt people thought he and Lana had tried to have ‘drama nice and early’ in the show before ‘getting comfy’ and cruising to the end.

The group then went on to discuss Ron’s comments, with many Islanders insisting that Ron had a firm game plan to win the show.
Insisting this was not the case, many viewers took to Twitter to defend Ron, with some claiming his fellow villa residents wanted to sabotage them so they themselves could be in with a better chance of winning the series.
One person wrote: ‘I honestly think that who whole villa think that Lana and Ron are going to win so they’re trying to sabotage it by spreading him being a game player. Isn’t it funny how all this bitching is happening now they all know it’s coming to a end. They’re all desperate to win.’
Someone else shared: ‘Biggest game players in there Sammie and Tom / shaq and troll ….Trying to bring Ron down because they get a hint the public don’t buy him n Lana.’

Another viewer posted: ‘First Jesse was accused of playing a game now it’s Ron’s turn, why aren’t these couples just focused on each other and furthering their love.’
While someone else tweeted: ‘The Ron “game-playing” thing doesn’t even make sense. Ron said as a viewer he thought people who had early drama then coasted are the game players, if that’s the case then why would it be HIS gameplay which is exactly what is happening with Lana??’
‘Judging by that clip what Ron said wasn’t that bad, I think they’ve all been thinking he’s been playing a game from the start and need justification,’ shared another viewer.
Someone else wrote: ‘I hope Ron flips because it’s bang out of order how all them little slime balls are are saying everything under the sun behind his back. The worried him and Lana win end of so , if anyone’s “Game playing”…’

One other person posted: ‘The way Sammie has spread this whole game plan thing hoping everyone will turn on Ron and it’s only made the public side with him and give him a shot at winning.’
While someone else shared: ‘So Ron is a game player because he found love and a show that’s made to find love… how does that work then.’
Meanwhile, another show fan posted: ‘Watched that clip again and Ron wasn’t at all saying he was playing a game. He’s saying that’s what people think.’
Ron was later fuming after realising the villa had been talking about him.
He told his fellow Islanders: ‘Honestly, I am livid. Who started this? Who started this by the fire pit?
‘The only other two people there were Samie and Tom.
‘I’m in two pieces of mind now because I know you don’t want me to get into drama and I know you don’t want me to flip but I will f**king flip.’
Lana told him: ‘Ron, I’m okay with it right now, because I’m fuming.’
Clearly stressed, Ron went on: ‘Ugh I want to go in calm, I want to go in calm, but this is something I don’t think I’ll be able to go in calm with.’
It comes as Love Island became embroiled in a ‘toxic femininity’ row after women on the show reduced some of the male contestants to tears.
Contestant Shaq Muhammad was left in tears after his on-screen partner Tanya Manhenga went off with another competitor, Martin Akinola. Shaq was devastated and had to be consoled by contestant Tom Clare.
Meanwhile, farmer Will Young burst into tears after the women jumped to the defence of Jessie Wynter when he kissed another cast member while in Casa Amor. But none of the women condemned Tanya.
This sparked a wave of controversy for the show, as fans rallied to support the male members of the villa.
