Love Island’s Catherine and Scott caught in very warm embrace after show reunion

Love Island stars Scott Van-der-Sluis and former villa beau Catherine Agbaje were finally reunited on screen during Sunday’s (6 August) hotly anticipated reunion show.

The former couple sat down next to one another and answered questions on their relationship and the way their experience played out in the villa, with Catherine conceding she’d “let people get in her head”.

Her ex Elom Ahlijah-Wilson confirmed he’d given them both his “blessing”, should they wish to pursue one another now they’re out in the real world.

And moments after the cameras were finished rolling, former contestant Ruchee Gurung captured a very warm embrace between the pair.

While on Instagram Live, Ruchee caught the pair in a very close embrace, with Catherine audibly gasping when she realised they were caught on camera.

Fans went wild for the sweet moment, with one claiming it "wasn't a friendly hug".

"Please let them be together forever and all will be right in this world and I can forgive them for the nonsense of this season," one wrote.

Another added: "Caths face?? It's giving we got caught."

Catherine and Scott were firm fan favourites during their stint in the villa, but came undone during the hotly anticipated Casa Amor challenge, which saw the beauty return to the villa arm in arm with bombshell Elom.

After being dumped from the villa, football star Scott appeared on Aftersun to chat with host Maya Jama about his experience in the villa, as well as his thoughts on Catherine.

Addressing his one-time love interest, he said: "Me and Catherine are friends now. I just want to put it out there. This is a reality show, you only see an hour of every day.”

Going on to defend Catherine, he continued: “I’ve seen a little bit of what’s been said to Catherine and it’s not right at all.

"I just wanna put that out there and stick up for her, sort of thing, because we did get on as friends before she left. We’re in a good place with it."

Host Maya pushed for an update on any potential romance between the pair, and asked if they could ever be more than just friends. Scott replied: "At the moment, we get on as friends really well but there’s nothing more than that at the moment. I don’t know about a date just yet.

“I was sort of over that situation in the villa. You can never say never with it, but for me, at the moment I’m sort of done with it."
