Chris Hughes has said he feels comfortable in his own skin, despite finding it "difficult" to stay in shape during lockdown.

The Love Island star, who previously became the new face of a dating app, showed off his fuller figure when he stripped off for an ice bath live on ITV racing in March.

Speaking to The Sun, the 28-year-old said: "Some days all I want to do is just eat.

"When I did that ice bath challenge I was like, 'God, my body does not look like it did four years ago in Love Island.

"But I'm happy in my own skin. It doesn't make me less happy with what I am now," he said.

The television personality went on to explain that he doesn't enjoy going to the gym and tries to spend as little time there when he occasionally goes.

He continued: "If I've got a holiday coming up I might get in the gym for a month beforehand.

"But I don't really enjoy going, if I'm honest. I just occasionally set foot in there for about 20 minutes and get out."

Chris also discussed whether or not his split with Jesy Nelson has put him off being in another relationship with a celebrity.

"If you're both doing two different things within an industry it makes it harder to see each other at times," he expressed.

"You might have a bond with somebody, so you can't turn them down on the basis of whether they're in the public eye or not because they could be the one for you. I'm open to anything really."

Chris and Jesy, 29, parted ways in April 2019 after 16 months together.

The reality star, who was left in tears after a fan 'saved his life' after a live testicular exam, previously told The Sun: "It was a tough period in a lot of people's personal lives and it was for me too, as break-ups are never easy.

"It was difficult. Sometimes you just grow apart. There have definitely been days when I wake up and things haven't felt great.

"The period 12 months ago was really tough. There were days where I was waking up and our split was the first thing I was thinking about."
