Love Island star Mehdi Edno has revealed he's planning to meet up with his ex on the show, Whitney Adebayo's family next week.

The 26 year old French star, who was an original islander on the 2023 summer series, was coupled up with Whitney after she entered the villa as a bombshell.

Unfortunately, the couple suffered a curve ball when just as their relationship was starting to heat up, Mehdi was voted out by the public.

While Whitney, 25, was initially devastated, it didn't take long for the star to throw herself into another connection as she met Lochan Nowacki during Casa Amor.

The pair's budding romance has continued to grow and they are now even favourites to win the entire show during Monday's grand final (July 31).

But outside of the villa, Mehdi is still pining after the wig business owner, and has even been in contact with her mum and sister too.

Speaking to Access All Areas hosts Bobby Norris and Ellen Coughlan on FUBAR Radio, the reality TV star admitted: "“I am [missing Whitney].

"I’ve been in contact with previous islanders and Whitney’s sister and mum. I think she’ll win the show. I’m not surprised she’s favourite to win.”

“I was supposed to meet her family but I’ve been on holiday for three weeks," Mehdi continued. "But I’ve been in touch with Whit’s sister and I’m seeing them next week.”

The French star was also asked what he thought of Whitney's decision to couple up with Lochan after he left the villa, and he gave his full support to the star.

“Being with Lochan, I feel like she has made the right decision for herself," Mehdi explained.

"She knows herself and she knows what’s best for her, so I think she made the right choice coupling up with him."

While fans will be left wondering if Whitney could end up reuniting with Mehdi once the islanders leave the villa, she and Lochan have been going from strength to strength in recent days,

The meet the parents challenge only cemented how well the pair get on, and Lochan later confirmed that fact after receiving the seal of approval from his mum and dad.

The businessman pulled Whitney for a chat and told her that while he struggled with showing his feelings, he was happy with where things were going between them.

During the VIP beach club party, presenter Maya Jama also announced that Whitney and Lochan had become the nation's favourite couple from the series.

Showing her trademark honesty at the announcement, Whitney laughed and declared to the other couples that they needed to get themselves a man "like Lochan". Time will tell who will this year's series.
