Love Islands Mollys mum on what happened when daughter left villa before returning

Love Island's Molly Marsh only spent six hours with her family before returning to the villa following a brutal dumping, according to her mum.

Some suggested the 21-year-old had gained an unfair advantage over her fellow Islanders as she was able to see her family, watch the show on the outside and gauge public opinion.

Molly's mum Janet, 49, said the claims were nonsense and in reality, Molly only spent six hours with her mum before heading back to Majorca.

This meant the blonde bombshell had no opportunity to her series back.

Speaking to the Mail Online, she said: "Everyone thinks Molly had been home for weeks and weeks but that actually didn't happen.

"She got home and was sent to Aftersun and then after that it was a podcast… so actually, I saw her for about six hours. I saw her in the morning, and she was getting a taxi back to the airport in the afternoon."

Molly's return saw her recouple up with Zachariah Noble, 25, who was stolen away from her during her first stint from 2016 Love Island star Kady McDermott, 27.

Now the couple look set to head into Monday's final together with the pair confessing their love for one another earlier this week.

Molly and Zach have been branded as 'opposites' due to Molly having grown up in Doncaster and Zach having grown up in London.

But again, Janet said this was nonsense and couldn't understand the confusion. She told the Mail Online even if their backgrounds are different it doesn't mean their relationship won't work.

She added: "I am confident that he does mean his feelings and you can see it in Zach's eyes and the way he touches her. It is quite the little romance."

In the same interview, Janet hit back at suggestions her daughter gets preferential treatment on the show because of her relationship with ITV.

Janet, has played three different roles on ITV’s popular soap Coronation Street including a nurse, receptionist, and ITU nurse.

The 49-year-old, who now works as a school teacher as well as doing acting on the side, told the Daily Mail how she thought it was ‘ridiculous that people are ‘twisting’ her small parts on TV.’
