Meghan Markle missing from ex-BFF Jessica Mulroneys post praising supportive pals

Meghan Markle was left out of‘ex-BFF’ Jessica Mulroney's birthday post celebrating the "smart girls" who have stood by her.

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, and the Canadian fashion stylist, 43, wereonce so close they were practically inseparable.

The pair met while Meghan was shooting Suits in Toronto, with Jessica helping to choose the wedding dress for the Duchess’ character in the show, Rachel.

Their bond was so tight that Meghan even called Jessica on the night Prince Harry proposed.

They jetted around the world together on trips, stayed at each other's houses and Jessica's three children all had important roles at Meghan's wedding to Harry in 2018.

However, it was reported the pair became distant in 2020 after Jessica was caught up in a 'white privilege' row – when she wascalled out for comments she made in a discussion about the Black Lives Matter protests.

And now it seems they are not all that close any more – as Meghan was left out of Jessica’s Instagram post celebrating the women who have supported her over the past year.

On her birthday, Jessica paid tribute to the female friends who had "stood by her" in hard times.

Along with a series of pictures and videos of her pals, she wrote: "I'm not a big birthday girl but this year I wanted to celebrate some of the women that have loved and stood by me unconditionally. I am so lucky to have so many smart girls in my life. And you too Ryan. I'm a lucky lady."

One fan replied by asking: “Where’s Meghan?”

Another said: ”You deserve these true friends… treasure them.”

A third posted: “You are lucky to have unconditional friends who support you even when you make mistakes (you are human, after all). I hope you write a book about what happened and what it all means.”

Jessica was fired from TV gigs and lost her reality show after she was called out by lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter for displaying "textbook white privilege".

Sasha claimed Jessica "took offence" with her promotion of the Black Lives Matter movement and threatened to damage her career.

"What happened next was a series of very problematic behaviour and antics that ultimately resulted in her sending me a threat in writing last Wednesday," Sasha added in a video posted to her Instagram page.

Jessica later issued a public apology, stating: "I want to say from my heart that every word of my apologies to Sasha over the course of the last two weeks privately, and again both publicly and privately today is true."

In an apparent reference to Meghan, she added: "As I told you privately, I have lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and centre.

"It was deeply educational. I learned a lot from that. I promise to continue to learn and listen on how I can use my privilege to elevate and support black voices."

After becoming embroiled in the race row, Jessicatook to Instagram to post a cryptic post about how you “lose friends” but “better” ones come along.
