Mel C ‘joins dating app’ one year after splitting from producer boyfriend

Mel C on whether Spice Girls would ever perform at Glastonbury

Mel C, 49, is reportedly back on the market and keen to find love again.

The Spice Girl is said to have joined the celebrity dating app, Raya, which describes itself as “a private global community”.

Her move comes following reports she was dating an old friend earlier this year, months after her split from partner Joe Marshall after seven years together.

According to The Sun, a friend of the singer said: “Mel’s in a really good place.

“She is loving performing and meeting fans. Meeting someone would just be a bonus.”

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Mel C for comment.

While the singer may be looking for love, a future husband doesn’t seem to be on the cards.

Mel has previously revealed that she “never wanted to marry” and had no regrets in her love life.

She told the publication: “Maybe marriage works for some people, but maybe to think it works for the majority is an old-fashioned notion.

“I’ve decided that life is a series of chapters. I think that’s a good way to not have regrets.”

The Spice Girl also said being a successful woman had made love “more complicated”.

Mel and music executive Joe are said to have split in the summer of last year.

A romance between the pair began in 2015 and he went on to become her manager.

Back in February, she was rumoured to be dating her long-term friend Cassius Colman.

A source at the time told the publication that the pair had been enjoying each other’s company and “getting on really well”.

They added: “She isn’t rushing into anything and they have enjoyed a few dates in London. It is all going well and she seems really happy.”

The pair were first seen together in December 2022 when they held hands as they walked across a treacherous, icy pathway.

They were last seen publicly back in April and the current status of their relationship remains unclear.

Away from her dating life, Mel is a doting mum to 14-year-old daughter Scarlet, who she shares with ex-partner Thomas Starr.
