Montana Brown vows to be more vigilant after AirTag slipped in her bag in airport

Montana Brown has shared plans to be more vigilant after she discovered that an AirTag had been slipped into her bag while jetting off on holiday.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today, the pregnant Love Island star, 27, recalled the terrifying moment she emptied out her bag and found the tag.

She told hosts Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley: "I was travelling to LA on my own, just to see some friends, and it was only when I landed and I had a notification that popped up on my iPhone and it said 'your location is being tracked by an AirTag.'

"And I think initially I was like 'oh it's probably some's air tag nearby, cause obviously everybody uses them to track their luggage anyway."

Montana's partner then suggested that she should check in her bag just in case, which the TV star says she was brushing off at the time, and thinking that it was "probably nothing."

"It was only when I went to the toilet and emptied everything out of my bag that it was at the bottom of my bag," Montana continued, "so that was really alarming because I genuinely had no idea that somebody was even that close to me to be able to put it into my bag."

Asked by Richard if she had any idea who put the tag in her bag, and when, Montana replied: "So it does give you a time frame, on the notification it says it was put on you at this time, so it was about an eight hour flight so it was just before then, so it could have been at the airport, or at check-in, or as soon as I got on the flight."

She then revealed that having not had anything like this happen in the past, Montana presumes that it was a stranger that placed the tag in her bag, adding that they couldn't be tracked down as she had panicked and flushed the tag down the toilet upon discovering it.

When asked if it had made her more aware of her belongings, Montana vowed to be more vigilant when out and about, adding: “Absolutely, I still am really baffled how someone managed to literally (get) that close proximity without me noticing.”

Reflecting further on the scary ordeal, she said: "It definitely was a shocking experience because you kind of like go down a rabbit hole of: ‘What would they then have done next, and what would they have tracked my location for?"

Montana's appearance on GMB came just days after the mum-to-be had a terrifying hospital dash when "reduced movements" sparked cause for concern.

She later gave fans an update from the hospital revealing that she'd been checked over and everything was okay.
