Loose Women’s Ruth Langsfordshowed off her birthday surprise for her son Jack’s girlfriend on her 21st birthday on herInstagram.
The TV presenter went all out, dressing her home for the milestone birthday in a heartwarming gesture to Jack’s girlfriend as she filmed the details of the table set-up.
With pink and silver themed decorations including balloons and confetti scattered across the table, fresh flowers in vases, candles, themed plates, and even a badge for the 21 year old, Ruth made sure her son’s partner felt like part of the family as they celebrated the special day.
Ruth also revealed the pile of gifts and birthday cake she got, complete with large ‘21’ candles on the cake that the birthday girl is seen blowing out at the end of the video, with the caption: "Jack’s girlfriend’s 21st birthday….had to do a table didn’t I?!!"
Ruth is no stranger to setting a beautiful table and has previously revealed they’re something of a family tradition.
Earlier this year, Ruth shared a similar set up that she’d done to celebrate Jack’s own 21st, with silver and gold decorations, oversized silver ‘21’ balloons, and confetti to celebrate his big day, saying: “A wonderful weekend spent celebrating our son Jack’s 21st birthday….where did those years go?!!! Had to do my birthday table of course….it’s family tradition!!”
Ruth’s followers are big fans of her table decorating skills. One follower said: "Beautiful you will make the perfect mother in law", whilst another commented: "Wish you were my mother in law xx beautiful".
Ruth hosted the birthday celebrations from her £3.25m Surrey home which she shares with fellow TV presenter husband Eamonn Holmes, with the large neutral dining room making the perfect setting for entertaining.
Jack, who is Ruth and Eamonn's only son, is currently studying for his third year at university, but returns home to his parents during the holidays. Eamonn is also a father to Declan, 32, Rebecca, 30, and Niall, 28, whom he shares with his ex-wife Gabrielle.
Ruth and Eamonn presented This Morning together for many years, with Ruth now being a main panellist on ITV’s Loose Women.
She’s also wasted no time in getting her table ready for Easter, as she revealed her new Easter table and side board decorations in a new Instagram video.
The video caption read: “Happy Easter everyone! The table is set (last night!) the sideboard is done….let’s hope the Easter Bunny is generous! Have a lovely day” as she showed off the beautifully decorated table.
Fake grass acts as a table runner, with sunny yellow placemats and Easter-themed crackers beside each plate. There’s also plenty of fresh blossom, rabbit-themed decorations, and mini Easter eggs completing the look ready for an Easter feast.
