Nick Knowles recalls getting stuck in a cave for new show

Nick Knowles proposed to his girlfriend Katie Dadzie last month while filming a TV show in New Orleans.

The happy couple confirmed the news on Instagram with a selection of loved-up photographs and the message: “So last minute something special happened in New Orleans.”

A friend of the couple said they are “so in love” and “over the moon” that they are getting married.

The source told The Sun: “They are so in love and absolutely adore each other. Katie is over the moon that Nick popped the question.”

Nick and Katie, who is 27 years his junior, have been together since 2021 after her children befriended his youngest son Eddie, nine, at a play centre.

Katie has two daughters from a previous relationship: Savannah, nine, and Alex, six.

Nick has been married twice before, first to Gillian Knowles from 1995 until 2000. They share a daughter, Tuesday, 26, and a son named Charlie, 25.

The DIY SOS presenter also has another son, Tyrian-J, from a two-year romance with beauty therapist Paula Beckett-Vass.

Nick then married Jessica Rose Moor, who is 26 years his junior, in 2012. They share Nick’s youngest child, Eddie.

After a turbulent relationship, they eventually called it quits in 2016.

In a rare interview, Katie admitted it wasn’t love at first sight when she met Nick and she actually “didn’t like him very much”.

She told the aforementioned publication: “I’m very shy and quiet, while Nick is quite extroverted and a complete chatterbox. He didn’t give me a lot of opportunities to talk. I didn’t know a lot about him.

“But when we were both single we went for coffee and he let me talk, eventually, and we had a lot in common. We both love cooking and have an interest in history.”

After their first public appearance in 2021, the couple was targeted by some trolls who questioned why Katie was with Nick.

Nick defended his partner as he admitted he found the criticism towards her “upsetting”.

He said: “I choose to be on TV. As a result, I expect the whole nine yards. I am up there as an object.

“I’ve chosen to be on TV but my children, or my family, or people I date, for them I feel it’s unfair to have a go at them.

“What upset me was the judgment of her without knowing anything about her. Or what her motivations might be. I found that upsetting and unfair.”
