Olly Murs and pregnant wife Amelia share moving video in which she tells him she’s expecting before announcing to stunned loved ones they have a baby on the way: ‘It wasn’t just our hearts that skipped a beat’ 

Olly Murs pregnant wife Amelia Tank was seen handing him a positive pregnancy test as she told him she was pregnant with their first baby in a video shared on Instagram on Saturday.

The singer, 39, and the bodybuilder, 31, took to Instagram on Wednesday evening to announce they are to become parents.

And on Saturday the couple posted a montage clip on Instagram in which they also told their stunned friends and family they were to become a family.

Former X Factor star Olly is left open-mouthed as Amelia hands him a pregnancy test in the clip after finding out she was expecting their first baby.

Elsewhere Olly was seen pretending to take pictures of his friends and family, counting down from three to one, before shouting: ‘Amelia’s pregnant!’, announcing the news to them for the first time.

Referencing his loved ones’ surprised reactions and his 2011 song Heart Skips a Beat, Olly captioned his post: ‘It wasn’t just our hearts that skipped a beat’

Everyone looks equally stunned before smiling and laughing with delight at the news. 

Other moments show Olly handing his pals a baby scan and at the end of the video, the moment they heard their unborn baby’s heartbeat during an ultrasound is shown.

They captioned their post: ‘It wasn’t just our hearts that skipped a beat.’ 

In a picture posted on Instagram on Wednesday, Olly and Amelia were seen dressed in Christmas jumpers, with an excited Olly proudly holding up a photo from their ultrasound scan while pointing at Amelia’s blossoming baby bump.

He wrote: ‘Baby Murs due 2024,’ as Amelia posed in unbuttoned jeans and a white crop top. 

The news comes five months after Olly and Amelia married on Essex’s Osea Island. 

A host of the couple’s showbiz friends took to the comment section to share their congratulations. 

Dianne Buswell wrote: ‘congrats guys’ while Davina McCall said: ‘Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy’ (sic).

Ronan Keating gave a clapping hands emoji while others joked Olly should ‘name the baby Chelsea’ in reference to his beloved football club. 

When the couple got married in July, Olly shared his hopes of becoming a father one day. 

The X Factor star told Hello! Magazine: ‘We’re ready to have our own little Murs running around.

‘It’s so special that we’ll be able to take our kids to Osea Island one day and say, “This is where we got married”‘.

In a different interview with OK! Magazine, he said: ‘I’m not sure I’m going to go for six kids, but of course I’d love to have children.’ 

The couple tied the knot in a three-day festival-themed wedding 13 months after former The X Factor star proposed.

Olly was unable to hold back his tears as he watched Amelia arrive in her custom-made wedding gown, insisting it was a moment he’ll never forget. 

He said: ‘I was blown away by how amazing it was. It was quite magical – the perfect celebration of our love.’

‘I was on the brink of crying at any moment. When my nephews walked down the aisle, I was gone, then when Amelia came in – oh my God! My mum said she hasn’t seen me cry like that since I was four years old!’

Olly was a contestant on the sixth series of the television talent show The X Factor  back in 2009. He finished as runner-up and has gone on to have a career in TV 

Amelia enlisted the help of Australia-based bridal house Pallas Couture for a number of months to perfect her wedding dress.

The garment was decorated with beaded floral embroidery, and featured detached sleeves and a long sweeping train with a floor-length veil.

The wedding, which was nicknamed Murs Fest, saw a number of big musical names perform, including Olly himself and fellow singer Craig David.

A total of 71 people joined the couple on the Friday night for a BBQ before they exchanged vows the following afternoon.

On the Sunday morning, a further 70 of Olly and Amelia’s family and friends arrived on Osea Island by boat, including Olly’s television personality friend Mark Wright.

Olly’s house band and singer Katie Holmes-Smith – who is currently performing with Adele at her residency in Las Vegas – took to the stage, followed by Heart FM DJ Pandora Christie.

Olly and Amelia who met on Instagram in 2019, went public with their romance in 2020, and enjoyed a total of four stag and hen parties between them ahead of their nuptials.
