Peter Andre received a glimpse into the future this week as he and daughter Princess prepared their outfits for this year's Pride Of Britain Awards.
Writing in his weekly column, the 49-year-old admitted he "felt like I was sitting waiting for her to try wedding dresses on" as his 15-year-old daughter went through the shopping rails. Fit for a Princess
It’s the Pride Of Britain Awards this week, so last week I was busy taking Princess to try on various dresses for the red carpet. We go every year and it’s such a nice event – and I love what it stands for.
Junior, Princess and I are definitely going but whether or not Emily can join us will depend on her work.
At the time of writing this, Princess is still trying to decide what dress looks the best.
As her dad, I felt like I was sitting waiting for her to try wedding dresses on! It was a fun thing to do but I was thinking, “Thank God I won’t have to do this for a few years until she gets married!”
I did give her my thoughts on the dresses but I told her it’s about what she likes, not what I like. My only opinion was that she should be comfortable.
They grow up so quickly before your eyes and Princess really has become a young lady now.
Dogs days are over
Emily recently took Millie and Theo to a Discover Dogs event in London where they met so many different breeds. I did say to Emily, “You’re brave going to a dog show when you have serious allergies.”
Emily was struggling but Millie and Theo love dogs so she wanted to take them.
After it, they kept asking for one and Millie said, “I know I can’t have one now but when I’m 18 I’m going to get a dog.” She loves cockapoos.
Dogs are beautiful and I love them so much but it’s just not the right time for us as a family when we are so busy.
Princess still wants a dog but she’s at an age where she spends so much time with her friends and she’s sensible enough to know it’s not the right time.
I’ve had dogs in the past and it makes you realise that if you can’t dedicate yourselves to them, it’s just not fair. If we did ever get one, it would have to be a breed that’s hypoallergenic, like a cockapoo, for Emily, so maybe one day.
Shake up Strictly!
The Strictly “mole” who leaks public vote results before they air has been revealed.
I think they should scrap the results show and do the dance-off live straight after the main show on a Saturday to avoid this.
Every week the audience is told to keep the news secret but with social media, it’s virtually impossible. I remember people would always come up to me on the Sunday before the show was on and beg me to tell them the results!
When I was on, all these stories kept coming out about everyone and the majority of them weren’t true.
It felt like someone was planted to make them up! It was bizarre and we never found out who it was.
Murs-terious girl
It was good seeing Olly Murs recreate my hit Mysterious Girl in the shower for Capital Breakfast’s Shower Of Hits feature. I like to see people having a good sense of humour, and not taking themselves too seriously.
I’ve got to hand it to him, he’s looking pretty good.
Although I’m a lot older than him, I reckon I could still give it a go. Maybe next year. Watch this space, LOL!
