Diamonds Are Forever

Emily and I had an amazing time celebrating our seventh wedding anniversary. We went out for a quick dinner, just the two of us, and we were laughing the whole time.

It’s great to have some one-on-one time. It was only for an hour but we still felt like we wanted to get home to the kids!

Princess has been doing a bit of babysitting for us, but only when Junior is home. She loves it, but then Junior says, “Well if I’m home too, why aren’t I getting paid for babysitting?” It’s a good point, I guess.

We gave each other some lovely gifts. I know the traditional gifts for seven years are wool and copper, but I saw a beautiful ring a couple of months ago that I really liked, and as we’re also celebrating 10 years together, I just bought it.

I know it’s not about presents, it’s about us being together and marking a milestone, but why not?

After all, diamonds are a girl’s best friend, right? When we get to 10 years of marriage I want to do something really special, so watch this space.

A Spicy Reunion?

The Spice Girls have teased that they’re reuniting for their 25th anniversary. It would be great to see them back together, especially if Victoria Beckham is involved.

It would take me back to the days when Flava was number one and the Spice Girls were coming out with their first single, Wannabe.

Talking about the Spice Girls, you may know that Mel B is a judge on The Masked Singer in Australia and she decided to call me live from the show to ask if I was Snapdragon!

I said, “I’m in England and I’m in Grease in the West End, so it’s unlikely!” I was then asked if I’m travelling between the UK and Oz to do both shows.

I don’t think even Elon Musk could help me travel that quickly. Maybe one day…

Ageing Gracefully

I’ve been getting a few little greys in my beard, but I’m embracing them at the moment. I’m cool with it, although if it ends up looking shocking I might do something about it!

Now I’ve got grey hairs in my beard, people keep asking me if I dye my hair, but I can honestly say I don’t. My dad is 89 and he still has black in his hair, so I’m lucky to have inherited those genes.

I was on Lorraine last week talking about my 30-year celebration in the entertainment industry next year, and the lovely Carol Vorderman, who was filling in for Lorraine Kelly as she had Covid, very kindly said I look like I’m 34!

I’ll take that any day of the week, but Carol is one to talk as she looks amazing. I’ve known Carol for years and I have a bit of a spot for her, as I do Lorraine.

Friends and Neighbours

It’s so sad Neighbours is ending, but it’s also unbelievable it’s been going for 37 years. Not many shows can say that!

I’ve been working with Jason Donovan on Grease and he was such a huge part of the show. I look forward to seeing him back on screen with Kylie Minogue.

When I was 13 and living in Australia, I remember being on a bus with a load of girls when we saw Jason, who was about 18, running down the beach.

The girls started shouting his name and at first I tried to play it cool, but I couldn’t help joining in. It went silent and they all looked at me. It’s funny to look back on now, as Jason and I have become good friends.
