Rita Ora’s ‘album launch show is delayed by an hour after security scare as police arrest a fan acting suspiciously outside the venue’

Rita Ora’s album launch event was reportedly delayed by an hour on Thursday after police were called to remove a man who was ‘behaving suspiciously’.

The singer, 32, performed at an intimate gig at PRIZM nightclub in Kingston, southwest London, but she was stopped from taking to the stage after a man was seen behaving ‘erratically’ in the crowd, according to The Sun.

It is claimed security staff stepped in to try and calm the man down before police were called to intervene. 

A source told the publication: ‘Whatever his motivation, it caused a huge scene — it’s very scary when someone seems totally uncontrollable in a crowd.

‘They were already inside the venue but nobody was quite sure what he wanted to achieve — as soon as he started behaving suspiciously the police piled in.’

Event: The singer performed at a gig at PRIZM nightclub in Kingston, southwest London, but she was stopped from taking to the stage after a man was seen behaving ‘erratically’ 

The man was reportedly handcuffed and put into the back of a police car outside the venue. 

MailOnline has contacted a representative and the Metropolitan Police for further comment.

Rita is currently celebrating the release of her brand new album You & I, and she went on Love Island to perform some of her new tracks for the Islanders.

Her latest outing comes after Rita made a very cheeky quip about her husband Taika Waititi during an appearance on This Morning on Tuesday.

She tied the knot with the Oscar-winning director, 47, last summer and said she’s still pinching herself one year on.

Rita made a sexual innuendo as she told hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary: ‘It’s nice to be with someone who really stimulates me mentally, respectfully… everyone, let’s not go there.’

The songstress spoke about her marriage as she said: ‘I’ve got a husband! Can you believe it? It’s so weird working with him but so fun. He’s a really great person.

‘A lot of people say we look alike, can you see it? My friends say it, I did not do that intentionally.

Oh dear! Rita appeared on Tuesday’s Love Island and fans were left in hysterics after villa lothario Mitchel Taylor was left red-faced by an ‘awkward’ interaction with the singer 

‘He really does have this great knowledge about music as well as film and books. He just expanded my creativity in a natural way which I am grateful for.’

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Rita’s surprise appearance in the Love Island villa was also aired on ITV2 as she performed for the islanders in the pre-recorded segment.

However, fans were left in hysterics after villa lothario Mitchel Taylor was left red-faced by an ‘awkward’ interaction with Rita.

The hitmaker made a surprise appearance on the show to perform a trio of her biggest hits, after the Islanders headed out of the villa for a Vibe party.
