Robert De Niro spends quality time with children after loss of beloved grandson

De Niro’s son-in-law Carlos Mare posts heart touching video on Leandro

Robert De Niro was supported by his children as he headlined Tribeca Festival’s Art Basel in Miami Beach for a conversation with acclaimed French artist JR.

During the star-studded event, the trio also spent some quality time together as they sweetly posed beside some art pieces.

This special outing with Drena, 52, and Julian De Niro, 28, comes just months after the passing of the actor’s 19-year-old grandson.

In July, Drena took to social media to confirm the death of her son, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, whose passing was later ruled an accidental overdose.

In the emotional tribute, she wrote: “I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama.”

Robert has seemingly been a huge support for his daughter who returned the favour by supporting him at the recent event.

Among the carousel of rare family photos was a black-and-white snap of the trio squeezed together inside a photo booth.

In another, they posed in what appeared to be a brightly colored photo op at the fair, with the star standing front and center while his kids extended their limbs in the background.

Drena captioned the posts: “It’s a family affair. 24hrs of much needed joy, laughs, art ,family time and friendship. What more can one ask for.”

The post also included a touching tribute to her late son, a photo of a mural painted in honour of Leonardo.

In Drena’s previous post, she visited the colorful Wynwood mural with Julian and the Hollywood icon.

She thanked the artist in the caption “for this incredibly moving tribute to our beautiful Leo. “Thank you Marelos for making it happen on this quick trip for us to experience this moment together.

“Pedro you brought much healing to mine , @juliansden and our dad’s heart with this beautiful mural,” Drena concluded.
