He told Daily Star: "I feel great about it because the actress I’m working opposite is fantastic at what she does.

"I couldn’t ask for a better co-star to be honest.

"I think it’s been building for a while and a lot of fans have wanted it.

He continued: "The chemistry is really great, things get pretty fiery, pretty romantic, pretty daring. A lot of exciting stuff coming up."

Fans of the soap will know that Sienna is the ex and mother of Warren Fox's (Jamie Lomas) children.

Over the years, the duo haven't been able to keep away from each other.

However, Things came to a head for the couple earlier this year when Sienna learned that Warren was driving the car which killed her beloved boyfriend Brody Hudson.

Opening up on whether or not Ethan should be afraid of the Hollyoaks hard man, Matthew explained: "I think the relationship between Ethan and Warren is already quite fragile.

"There are a few things that could break that fragility.

"I don’t think Warren and Ethan very much like each other, but they get along because they have to.

"I think Warren might have a thing or two to say about his relationship with Sienna."

Fans will have to wait and see to how the relationship unfolds and if Ethan and Sienna's romance is for keeps or will she find herself back in the arms of Warren.

Hollyoaks won the award for Best Double Act at the Inside Soap Awards ceremony, which went to Anna Passey and Kieron Richardson for their work as Sienna and Ste Hay.
