Royal author calls Sussexes intrusion claims complete travesty and insists they agreed on pics

A royal expert has called the photos selected in the trailer for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming documentary a “travesty”, following misuse claims.

The trailer for the Netflix documentary of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shows several images speaking to the hounded experiences they endured during their time living in the UK as part of the Royal Family.

Since the release of the clip, it’s been pointed out that one of the photos, showing an army of aggressive photographers seemingly waiting to capture the couple, was actually taken from the London premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2011.

Now, a second photo used by Netflix in the trailer has been claimed as misleading, which shows Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, walking with their baby son Archie in a courtyard.

Discussing the image, royal author Robert Jobson tweeted: “This photograph used by Netflix and Harry and Meghan to suggest intrusion by the press is a complete travesty.

"It was taken from an accredited pool at Archbishop Tutu’s residence in Cape Town.

"Only 3 people were in the accredited position. H & M agreed the position. I was there."

Mr Jobson then posted a photo of Meghan, holding Archie, and Harry as they greeted and introduced their son to Archbishop Tutu.

The royal expert insisted: "There was no intrusion. I was part of a 3 person UK palace pool.”

Mr Jobson added: "Nobody else was allowed in and we shared the words and photos with the UK Media."

In the trailer, Harry is heard saying: “I had to do everything I could to protect my family,” speaking to his wife Meghan and their two children, for whom “history was repeating itself”.

OK! has contacted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's representatives for comment.

Other footage used by the media team has been claimed to have been taken from separate scenarios, including Katie Price's prosecution trial outside Crawley Magistrates Court from last December, and Trump's former lawyer’s departure for prison.

Outside of these claims, Harry and Meghan have received sympathy in regards to them and Netflix dealing with possible copyright laws, preventing them from using the appropriate images.

One person said on Twitter: “Have you considered that Netflix may have previously gained permission to use the image so went with that?

"Did copyright not cross your narrow mind? Perhaps they just used a generic stock image because that's the norm.”

Harry and Meghan’s documentary is scheduled to air on Netflix this Thursday.
