Sam Faiers leads stars mourning England’s World Cup loss after Kane misses penalty

Sam Faiers has shared her sadness over England losing the match against France in the quarter finals of the World Cup on Saturday 10 December.

The England National team lost after Harry Kane missed a late penalty – ending dreams of making it to the final of the tournament, which comes around once every four years.

TV personality Sam, 31, has now taken to her Instagram stories to lead stars in mourning the defeat as she posted a snap of the footballers huddled together.

"I really feel for these guys," she started over the image alongside a crying emoji. "I was at the edge of my seat the whole game. They played their hearts off in my eyes. @england," alongside a red heart emoji and a clapping hands emoji.

Sam wasn't the only celebrity to share their heartbreak over the results as TV presenter Piers, 57, took to his Twitter share a snap of captain of the squad Harry Kane, 29.

Over this, he wrote: "You won’t meet a more decent honest footballer or person than @HKane- or a better leader of the England team.

"Absolutely heart-breaking for him."

Former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, 29, was also among the fans who was left devastated over the outcome.

Taking to his Instagram stories, he told his 24.6million followers: "I think we played really well. I'm gutted, really gutted. Well, let's wait four more years I guess.

"My heart does go out for Kane though, it's a tough one."
