Shannen Doherty shares video ahead of tumour surgery

Shannen Doherty reportedly became emotional as was met by a warm ovation from the audience at 90s Con In Tampa, Florida over this weekend.

The actress, who played Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990-1994) and in the reboot BH90210, reportedly broke down in tears while reuniting with her co-stars.

Tori Spelling, Jason Priestly, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris were also present at the event to reminisce about the good old days together.

One of the most emotional moments of the evening, however, led Doherty to shed some tears in front of the audience before making light of the moment.

“Thank you so much,” an emotional, teary-eyed Doherty said.

“You guys know how much I love crying constantly. And I do, it seems. So, thank you,” she joked, according to People.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2020, Doherty has been keeping her fans updated on her social media about her ongoing health battle.

But it has been a tough ride for the Fortress star, as she recently shared her stage four breast cancer had spread to her brain.

Back in June, the actress shared a behind-the-scenes clip with her two million Instagram followers as she prepared to go into surgery to remove a tumor in her head.

The brief clip saw a fragile Doherty seemingly being checked over before she headed into surgery.

Alongside the brave clip, the Hot Seat star wrote a lengthy caption explaining her current health status while candidly sharing her thoughts and feelings about the dire situation.

She began: “January 16, 2023. Surgery. I had a tumor in my head they wanted to remove and also biopsy.

“I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified. The fear was overwhelming to me,” the actress openly admitted.

Before continuing: “Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her.

“Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore,” she shared, before adding: “This is what cancer can look like.”
