Annabel Croft says ‘competitive’ side will come out on Strictly
Strictly Come Dancing 2023 contestant Annabel Croft has previously spoken out about plastic surgery as a “strange practice”.
Annabel, who was the youngest British tennis player to compete at Wimbledon for almost a century at the age of 15 in 1984, thinks cosmetic procedures can result in everyone “looking the same”.
While fans often praise the 57-year-old for her ageless beauty online, the sports presenter has made it clear that she’s not keen on going under the knife.
“We’re all ageing so it doesn’t really matter,” she previously told Platinum Magazine.
“A lot of the treatments create a very strange look and make everyone appear the same.”

She went on to suggest that, by having certain cosmetic procedures, individuals run the risk of standing out for looking unnatural.
“It’s very obvious to the naked eye when someone has had treatment and for many people, it can become obsessive,” she explained.
“I’ve always thought that there must be better things to spend your money on.”

While she may not be a fan of plastic surgery, Annabel has managed to retain the same natural beauty and radiant complexion that she had when she was on the court decades ago.
The star has previously revealed that yoga has worked wonders for her health, even claiming that she feels even fitter in her 50s than she had “ever felt in my life”.
Annabel recently revealed that she only found out she had been picked for Strictly “days” before it was announced.
The sports star has expressed how keen she is to join in on the “joyfulness” of the BBC One show just months after her beloved husband Mel Coleman, with whom she shares daughters Charlie, 27, and Lily, 25, died from cancer.
This year’s line-up includes Layton Williams, Nigel Harman, Jody Cundy, Ellie Leach, Nikita Kanda, Angela Rippon and Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Bobby Brazier.
Les Dennis, Annabel Croft, Amanda Abbington, Adam Thomas, Zara McDermott, Angela Scanlon and Eddie Kadire are all also taking part.
The first live show for Strictly Come Dancing looks set to air on Saturday, September 23 on BBC One.
