Deborah James' charity fund has hit the £7million mark following her death earlier this week.

The BBC podcast host, who also went by the nickname 'Bowelbabe', passed away on Tuesday 28 June following a five-year battle with bowel cancer.

Prior to her death, she announced the heartbreaking news that she'd moved to end-of-life-care and, while there, focused her efforts on raising awareness and money for Cancer Research UK.

The mum-of-two initially hoped to raise £250,000 but in just a few days the figure topped £1.5m. Now, this figure has risen above the £7million mark as donations have flooded in following her death.

While the number is incredible, celebrity pals of the late star have since urged fans to keep donating in a bid to bring the fund up to £10million.

Davina McCall said: "Wouldn’t it be perfect if we got £10m. She did so much for so many of us. She was unbelievably inspiring. Let’s do it for Debs.”

Susanna Reid added: “What an amazing legacy £10m would be for this truly remarkable, loving and brave woman.”

Meanwhile, Deborah's close pal Emma Campbell told The Sun: “Let’s get the fund to £10m, it would mean the world to Debs.”

The JustGiving page isn't the only way Deborah was attempting to raise money for charity though as she also came out with her own T-Shirt in collaboration with In The Style.

In her final photo on her Instagram page, the star announced that the 'Rebellious Hope' top had raised an additional £1million for Cancer Research UK.

In the snap, Deborah could be seen raising her finger to the sky, along with In The Style founder Adam Frisby and his partner Jamie Corbett as they held onto a giant cheque for £1m.

In the caption, she wrote: "WOW!! ONE MILLION POUNDS. I am honestly so overwhelmed we, through @inthestyle raised over £1,000,000 for @bowelbabefund for @cr_uk!

"All from sales of the ITS x Dame Deborah James collection and ‘Rebellious Hope’ T-shirts that I designed with @inthestyle (One million, that’s just crazy).

"I got a lovely little visit yesterday from the @inthestyle founder @fr15by and his partner @thejamiecorbett who brought this lovely cheque and we have had a little toast to celebrate it. I just can’t believe it!"

Deborah added: "What’s funny is when @inthestyle released the first t-shirt we both said how incredible £50k raised would be so for me to still be here and see it’s over £1mil is just so incredible!

"‘Rebellious Hope’ is what has got me through the last few years and it’s what is keeping me going now! Seeing all your messages, tags and support has just been the best and I am so grateful that we have been able to do this together! Thank you all."
