Tate McRae hit the stage at the 2023 Juno Awards on Monday night (March 13) at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta.
The 19-year-old singer not only opened the show with her hit song “she’s all i wanna be” at the annual awards show, but she was also up for multiple awards!
Tate was nominated for TikTok Juno fan choice, Single of the Year for “she’s all i wanna be,” Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year for I Used to Think I Could Fly, and Songwriter of the Year. Unfortunately, she did not take home any wins.
Ahead of the show, she dished on being nervous/excited about her performance.
See what she said and watch her performance inside…
“I think I’m just like, ‘This is the coolest thing ever that I get to just perform at awards shows.’ So I think it’s more exciting, and I’m just ready,” she told ET Canada on the carpet. “The rendition we’re doing of my song, we completely maneuvered it and made it a completely different sound, and it kind of has some background vocals of my other songs, and it just feels like a really fresh version of the song and probably one of the last performances of this song.”
