Tom Daley, 28, and his husband Dustin Lance Black, 48, have surprised fans with the news of the arrival of their second child.

It comes after the couple welcomed their first child, a little boy named Robert, via surrogate back in 2018.

Now, they have quietly announced that they are now both fathers to a little boy named Phoenix Rose.

The loved-up pair shared the happy announcement in The Times, revealing that the little boy had been born on March 28.

The low-key statement read: “Black-Daley on 28th March to Thomas Robert Daley and Dustin Lance Black, a son, Phoenix Rose.”

The pair named their first child, Robert Ray, after the Olympic athlete’s late father Robert, who tragically died of a brain tumour in May 2011.

Tom and Dustin wed back in 2017 and are now proud parents of two children, despite previously opening up about their difficult experiences with surrogacy.

The couple also appears to be as smitten as they were when they first got together, with Dustin sharing an adorable snap last month to mark 10 years since they met.

Sharing a picture of the pair posing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and a number of other cute pics from over the course of their relationship in view of his 478,000 Instagram followers, he wrote: “10 YEARS AGO TODAY…

“…I met my best friend and the great love of my life at a random dinner in Los Angeles that I had no business being at (I had a script due the next day!).

“I worried I was in real (good) trouble from the first moment we spoke. I was right.

“Thank you Tom for all of your love, patience, and encouragement, for building our family together, and for all of the many adventures past and yet to come.”

Tom is a British Olympic gold medallist and one of the UK’s most popular and well-loved athletes.

His husband Dustin is an award-winning US director and screenwriter, previously earning an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2009 for his film Milk.
