Vanessa Feltz vows not to ‘waste time engulfed in sadness’ after split

Vanessa Feltz gives update after Ben Ofoedu split

Vanessa Feltz, 61, opened up about her “horrible romantic implosion” following her split from Phats and Small singer Ben Ofoedu, 50, following his infidelity. Now almost two months since she announced their split, Vanessa is trying to “focus on the good stuff”.

She told Express.co.uk: “I don’t want to give the impression that it is a total cinch and an absolute doddle because that would be untrue and really unfair to make it look as if I found it so easy to spring back.

“Of course I don’t find it easy at all but what I am really doing is walking the walk, I’m finding the experience, the joy, the fun and thinking about other things.

“I won’t just sit there listening to sad music eating loads of cake and ice cream, even if that is what I really feel like doing.

“It doesn’t mean that I don’t feel all the other stuff and it doesn’t mean that when I walk into the door of the house on my own I don’t feel engulfed in all the sadness and all the disappointment that everybody else feels when they have a broken relationship.

“It’s no joke, mine was 16 years long so it is no joke at all and I don’t want anybody to think that I think it is.”

The TalkTV host added that she does not want to “squander a single day of my life to total sadness”, particularly because her own mother died aged just 57.

It comes as Vanessa will be judging the Pour Moi Uplifting Women Awards 2023.

With nominations almost closed, the awards will recognise the incredible achievements of women across the UK in five different categories.

Vanessa said she is “absolutely delighted and thrilled” to be judging the awards because “it is all about bigging up women”.

She added: “It’s so important for me to participate in the awards because I’m delighted to be associated with anything that promotes women.”
