William and Harry will exchange Christmas gifts for their children – but not each other

Prince William, Prince Harry and their wives are said to be intent on exchanging Christmas gifts for their children but not for each other.

Relations between the once-close brothers are at an all-time low, following Harry and his wife Meghan Markle 's latest slight on the royal family with the release of their tell-all Netflix documentary, the first three episodes of which aired last Thursday.

Whilst those episodes were relatively shy of truth bombs about the royal family, there were accusations of racism, Meghan suggesting Kate and William were quite cold when she met them, and the Duchess of Sussex joking about curtseying to the Queen.

Despite the tensions, the two brothers and their wives are said to be intending on keeping Christmas normal for their children by sending gifts for them.

William and Kate, Prince and Princess of Wales, are parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, whilst Meghan and Harry are mum and dad to Archie and Lilibet.

Royal commentator Roya Nikkhah wrote in The Sunday Times: "In the absence of goodwill between the couples, William and Kate will not deprive three-year-old Archie and Lilibet, one, of a present under the tree.

"And in one royal tradition that Team Sussex is still on board with, Harry and Meghan have also dispatched gifts for George, Charlotte and Louis, who are nine, seven and four. There will be no presents exchanged between the adults."

William and Kate haven't had much chance to get to know Harry and Meghan's kids, after they moved to America with Archie in 2020, when he was just a baby.

Meghan fell pregnant and gave birth to Lilibet Diana whilst she was in the US, however, they celebrated the tot's first birthday in June of this year whilst in the UK attending the celebrations for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

They threw a party for Lilibet in the grounds of Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, however, it is not believed that William, Kate or their children attended the event.

Meghan said she was shocked by how "formal" the Royal family continued to be in a private setting as she described the first time she met Kate and William.

She said: "Even when Will and Kate came over and I met her for the first time, they came over for dinner.

"I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot.

"I'm a hugger I've always been a hugger. I didn't know that could be jarring for a lot of Brits.

"I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality out on the outside, carried through on on the inside.

"That there is a forward facing way of being then you close the door and you go phew, great we can relax now.

"But that formality continues on both sides and that was surprising to me."
