William lunged at Harry after Prince Philips funeral, Dukes memoir claims

Prince Harry has claimed his brother Prince William "lunged" at him as they tried to sort out their differences in 2021 following Prince Philip's funeral.

In a leaked extract from Harry's soon-to-be released memoir Spare obtained by The Sun, the 38 year old claims he and his older brother, 40, held peace talks at Frogmore Cottage along with their father King Charles, 74, following their grandfather's funeral in April 2021.

Harry claims he shared his view that the 'Megxit' agreement, which saw he and wife Meghan Markle step down from their roles as senior Royals in 2020, had been "violated", prompting William to becoming angry with him.

The siblings and their father were allegedly on a stroll in Windsor and were discussing Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey which had aired weeks earlier.

Harry claims he was attempting to discuss bullying allegations against his wife Meghan, 41, and trying to reason with William and Charles, but they were not listening.

Dad-of-three William, who Harry claims was "really steaming", then shouted at him: "You never came to us. You never came to me.”

Harry then shared his concerns over the agreement being "violated", but William responded by telling him he should “take it up with Granny”.

Harry wrote: "I waved a hand, disgusted, but he lunged, grabbed my shirt. ‘Listen to me, Harold’.

“I pulled away, refused to meet his gaze. He forced me to look into his eyes. 'Listen to me, Harold, listen! I love you, Harold! I want you to be happy'."

Harry claims he responded by saying: "I love you too…but your stubbornness is extraordinary!" He then said he pulled out of his brother's grasp, but William grabbed him a second time.

The Duke then recalls in Spare: “'Harold, you must listen to me! I just want you to be happy, Harold. I swear I swear on Mummy’s life.'

“He stopped. I stopped. Pa stopped. He’d gone there. He’d used the secret code, the universal password. Ever since we were boys those three words were to be used only in times of extreme crisis.”

OK! has contacted representatives for both Prince Harry and Prince William for comment.

The latest revelations come ahead of the official launch of Spare, which was leaked earlier this week after it accidentally went on sale in Spain. The book will land on shelves on 10 January.

Harry has taken part in three explosive interviews to promote his autobiography – one with ITV News at Ten's Tom Bradby and another with CBS News' Anderson Cooper and a third on ABC with Michael Strahan.

The first two interviews will air on Sunday 8 January, while the third is set to air on 9 January.
