Tom Mann has told fans he is "still in shock" and has "no words" following the sudden death of his fiancée Dani Hampson on what should have been their wedding day.

The former X Factor contestant's partner died suddenly in the early hours of Saturday 18 June, aged just 34.

Taking to Instagram nearly four weeks on from her death, Tom wrote a tribute to Dani as well as thanking people for showing "love, kindness and support" to him and his son, Bowie.

He began by describing the 18 June as "the worst day of my life", before adding: "Still in shock & still no words – my beautiful Dani is an indescribable loss.

"Nothing can be said or done but I need to acknowledge the immense amount of love, kindness & support that Bowie, Dan's family, my family and I have received. It has overwhelmed us."

He continued: "In this darkest of times, it is extremely difficult to feel anything other than sadness, let alone gratitude, but we have found glimpses of feeling that union of love that has come from far & wide for our Dani.

"She was the best of the best, and that is a testament to her. Thank you [one white heart emoji]."

His statement was accompanied by a photo of himself kissing Dani on the cheek and another of their son, Bowie, and his mother together.

Tom initially broke his silence two days after Dani's death by taking to Instagram to post a black and white photograph of "the love of his life" and their son.

He started by telling his 115,000 followers that "I can't believe I am writing these words."

Tom went onto describe Dani as "my best friend, my everything and more, the love of my life".

He explained: "On what was supposed to be the happiest day of our lives ended in irreversible heartbreak. I feel like I have cried an ocean.

"We never made it to the alter; or got to say our vows, or dance our first dance, but I know you know that you were my entire world and the best thing that has ever happened to me, Danielle. I will wear this ring that I was always supposed to wear as a sign of my unconditional love to you.

"I am completely broken trying to process this and I honestly don’t know where to go from here, but I do know I need to use any strength I can muster for our little boy.

"I will not be a mark on the parent that you had already become but I promise I will do my everything to raise Bowie just the way we always wanted. I promise you he will know how amazing his mummy was. I promise to make you so so proud.

"The most beautiful person inside and out. The most incredible soul. We have lost such a special person and I am sure we are about to see an abundant outpouring of love that reflects that.

"I will try to find peace in your messages and comments, but right now I am grieving and I will be for a very, very long time.

"My darling Dani, the brightest light in any room, my world is nothing but darkness without you. I will miss you forever."
