Camilla suffers fresh heartache as another much-loved family member dies months after cousin found dead in hotel | The Sun

THE Queen Consort has suffered fresh heartache after her much-loved brother-in-law died, The Sun can reveal.

Camilla, 75, is hosting a reception at Buckingham Palace to mark International Women's Day with stars from across the world.

It comes just days after businessman and landowner Simon Elliot – who has been married to Camilla's sister Annabel for 50 years – died.

Simon, 82, has been close to Camilla for five decades.

Simon and Annabel, 74,  even joined Charles and Camilla on their honeymoon at Balmoral in 2005.

He also attended the premiere of Bond movie No Time To Die in 2021 with Camilla and was a guest at Queen Elizabeth II's funeral last September.

Camilla's younger sister Annabel was 23-years-old when she married Simon, whose late father Sir William was an Air Chief Marshal of the RAF, in 1972.

They have three children Alice, Catherine and former Tory Party chairman Ben Elliot.

Ben resigned as co-chair of the Conservative party, hours after the announcement of Liz Truss as the party’s new leader.

He was credited with “supercharging” donations to the party, especially before the 2019 election.

Annabel is an accomplished interior designer and antiques dealer and kitted out dozens of the royals' Duchy of Cornwall's holiday-let cottages in the Scilly Isles, Cornwall and Wales.

The Queen Consort joined King Charles in Colchester to confer city status yesterday (TUE).

Camilla, President  Women of the World Festival (WOW) is hosting inspiring women from across society, including entrepreneurs, entertainers, athletes, authors, journalists and public servants at Buckingham Palace to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Camilla's travel writer brother Mark Shand died aged 62 in April 2014 after suffering head injuries falling over outside a bar in New York.

The funeral for Simon, of Stourpaine, Dorset, is believed to be held later this month.
