“One of my most popular recipes of all time is this Tavuk Doner (chicken doner).

"I want to show you how I make it in the air fryer,” she narrates.

Meliz gives her fans a sneak peek of the finished product – a warm wrap encasing strips of juicy chicken, homemade pickled cabbage and lashings of scrumptious chilli sauce.

She then begins with step one of her recipe.

First, she spoons plain natural yoghurt into a bowl, followed by a small measure of pomegranate molasses and two spoonfuls of turkish sweet red pepper paste.

Then comes a glug of olive oil and honey, a sprinkle of dried oregano, ground cumin and ground cinnamon.

She adds pul biber and paprika, onion granules, garlic granules, sea salt and black pepper.

Meliz mixes the ingredients into a smooth paste and pops her boneless, skinned chicken thighs into the same bowl.

After coating the chicken in the paste, she suggests marinating for a minimum of four hours or preferably overnight.

“Pop them in the fridge and forget about them,” she says.

It’s then time to soak your skewers in water – “You don’t want them to burn while they cook,” she warns.

“Then skewer each marinated chicken thigh onto those four skewers one at a time as it’s much easier to do it that way,” she continues.

Meliz suggests leaving a little bit of space between each chicken thigh so that they cook evenly in the air fryer.

She pops the constructed kebab in her air fryer at 180 degrees for around 45-50 minutes until fully cooked through.

“I give it a flip halfway through,” she reveals.

“I make some pickled cabbage, I fry some chips and make some ezme (a Turkish sauce).

"Once the kebab is cooked you are good to go to make up your lovely Friday night dinner.
