BRITS can be among the first people to get their hands on Prince Harry’s revelatory memoir Spare – but there’s a significant catch.

Retailer WH Smith will be opening branches at midnight especially for the event with publication due on January 10.

That means Brits will be able to legally buy the bombshell book, published by Penguin Random House, once the clocks strike 12.

People will have to stay up late in order to bag a copy for themselves.

No doubt many royal fans will only be too eager to do so and pour over its contents.

But fans who don't want to venture out to get their copy will be able to download the audiobook version and have Harry, 38, read it to them.

The 416-page book, which will be translated into 16 languages, had been earmarked for release in the run up to Christmas but was delayed following the death of Queen Elizabeth.

It comes after it was revealed major booksellers are already heavily discounting Spare which has a full retail price of £28.

However, many outlets such as WH Smith and Waterstones are already selling it at the discounted price of £14.

Online retailer Amazon is also selling it for the knockdown price.

A number of shocking revelations have already emerged after the book accidentally went on sale in some Spanish bookshops.

The explosive revelations in Harry's book include:

The Duke of Sussex details his explosive split with his brother Prince William and alleges his sibling physically attacked him during a row over Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle.

In the book, Harry claims William was clouded by a "red mist" before the attack.

Harry alleges William "grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor" in an extract of the book.

Harry claims he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.

The Prince also reveals that he snorted cocaine, smoked marijuana and took mushrooms when he was younger.

Opening up about taking drugs, Harry writes: “Of course I had been doing cocaine around this time.

“At someone’s country house during a hunting weekend, I’d been offered a line, and I’d done a few more since.

“It wasn’t much fun, and it didn’t make me particularly happy, as it seemed to make everyone around me.

“But it did make me feel different, and that was the main goal. Feel. Different.

“I was a deeply unhappy 17-year-old willing to try almost anything that would alter the status quo. That was what I told myself anyway.”

He also admitted he had watched Meghan Markle’s steamy sex scenes when she appeared in the US drama Suits and jokingly added he needed “electric shock therapy” to erase the images from his mind.

Harry has also been accused of putting British troops at risk of revenge attacks by revealing he killed 25 Taliban militants during a combat tour of Afghanistan.

Retired military officer Colonel Richard Kemp said the wayward heir's comments in his memoir Spare betrayed comrades he fought alongside.
