I lived with no heating for four years – there’s a Poundland buy I swear by for helping keep the house warmer for longer | The Sun

WE'RE all trying to find ways to keep the house warm this winter without switching on the heating.

The rise in energy bills means many people are searching for new ways to keep the house and themselves warm.

Klaire de Lys, from the UK, has gone viral on TikTok for sharing her many tips and tricks on staying warm without central heating.

After living in a house with no heating for four years, Klaire has become a bit of a pro at keeping warm and has shared her tricks on social media to help others.

In one video, Klaire revealed how to make the heat from your oven last longer to help keep your house warm.

She said: "One of the things that I do every winter, is whenever I'm cooking in the oven, or at least at the beginning of winter, what I do is I get three bricks and I put them on a stand like this."

Klaire showed that she puts the bricks on a wired cookie tray near the bottom of the oven.

"I just use one of those wire cookie trays, just one from Poundland, they're not expensive," she added.

Then put the bricks on top of the rack so that if they are wet, no water is trapped underneath to cause an accident.

She advised not to use stones or rocks as they can be porous and absorb water, if these are heated up too hot or quickly they can explode.
