I regret my son’s name – it’s really traditional but I went with a unique spelling and no one can pronounce it | The Sun

A MUM was left regretting her son's name after its spelling led to people mispronouncing it all the time.

Mum-of-two Yvette chose to call her baby boy Henrik.

But she finds that people frequently say it wrong – even though she doesn't bother correcting them most of the time.

"My son's name is Henrik and now in hindsight it wasn't a good name choice," she said in a video on her TikTok page.

"Everyone's like, 'Oh Henry, what a beautiful name!' Or Hendrick.

"And I'm like, yeah! Cause honestly, I'm not really going to see that person again and I don't really care."

Yvette went on to say she only correct people she likes or is planning to see again.

"But do people get really bothered by it? Does it really matter?" she added.

Yvette went on to say that her mum and mother-in-law worry that people are going to think baby Henrik is a girl, because she's dressing him in the onesies that were once his sister's.

"Honestly, why would I care if anyone thought he was a girl?" she said.

"And I was like, 'Oh no, she's actually a girl'.

"They got really mortified and were like, 'I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry'.

"And I'm like actually it doesn't really matter. I don't even know why I corrected you."

"Do you correct people if they misgender your kid? Or mistake their name even if you’re probably not see them again?" she added in the video caption.

"Why are they all so concerned with this stuff?
