I stopped my whole wedding ceremony when I realized I forgot half of my dress after a bizarre dream days earlier | The Sun

A BRIDE stopped her entire wedding ceremony after she realized she forgot half of her dress following a bizarre dream she had days earlier.

Becky Jefferies had already walked down the aisle for her long-awaited ceremony in Greece when she realized the mishap.

Jefferies’ wedding dress was a two-piece with a detachable skirt that was supposed to be taken off for the reception but was never put on the dress to begin with.

“As soon as I got situated after walking down the aisle – greeting my husband and calming myself down – I had the sudden realization that I never put on the overskirt,” she said.

“And then it hit me like a ton of bricks.”

The already hectic wedding day became too much for Jefferies, who said she felt she was going to crumble at the altar.

She and her fiancé, Sherif Fayed, had already gotten legally married at the end of 2019 and planned a wedding for June 2020.

However, their plans were postponed several times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Jefferies tried to alert her friend that her skirt was missing, however, they weren’t very good lip readers so she decided to pause the ceremony completely.

“Not getting the rest of the dress was never an option,” she said.

She waited for a break in the ceremony to grab the microphone from the officiant.

“Our dear friend Amer, the officiant, had put so much effort and practice into the speech that there was not a single moment of pause until it was time for our vows,” she said.

Jefferies said she didn’t remember anything of what Amer was saying but knew she had to say something.

“Umm, pause for a moment. I just realized when I got to the end of the aisle that I’m missing half of my dress … Maybe I could put it on now?” she said to her guests.

The next couple of minutes were spent with Jefferies making jokes as her wedding planner grabbed the skirt.

The funny moment was shared on Jefferies’ TikTok account.

The rest of the wedding went off without an issue but the ironic part is that Jefferies admitted to the crowd that she had a dream about this exact situation.

“Once we resumed the ceremony, everything was in working order and I could finally relax,” she said.

Jefferies added that her husband laughed and shook his head before they were pronounced husband and wife – with the rest of her dress on.

“Everyone said afterward it was the most memorable wedding they'd been to — which was a relief,” Jefferies said.

“They all told us it was such an icebreaker in what's usually a very nerve-wracking moment with lots of high emotions at play.”
