Five BBC theories: new villain in Walford, stalker spirals and pals war for love | The Sun

ALFIE Moon is set for a shock as his health seemingly takes a nasty turn this week.

Some EastEnders fans have worked out he may be suffering from an illness he already encountered in the past. Get the lowdown.

1. Health relapse for Alfie

Alfie Moon returned to Albert Square in late 2022, after finding out that his former wife Kat Slater had moved on and was ready for marriage again with Phil Mitchell.

The character had been absent for three years, leaving Kat and his children alone in Walford.

In scenes airing this week on BBC One, Alfie realises that one of his children is having trouble forgiving him for his absence.

It all begins when Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) turns up at the bookies and asks Alfie to mind Tommy and Ernie whilst Kat is away visiting her sister Little Mo.

What is wrong with Alfie Moon in EastEnders?

A downbeat Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) arrives for a pep-talk with Alfie and unknowingly lets slip that Tommy revealed the truth about where to find Graham.

Tommy (Sonny Kendall) and Alfie have a huge row back at No.55 before the youngster heads to the park with Perry.

Alfie is horrified when he finally finds him, and orders Tommy home where the pair clash again.

Phil intercepts and shares some harsh views on Alfie’s parenting.

Meanwhile, chaos ensues at the bookies as Freddie attempts to take control of Ernie.

Back at No.55, Alfie tries to make amends with his son and he tries to smooth things over again in later scenes by apologising for being an absent father.

However, things soon turn sour when he forbids him from seeing Perry and Tommy lashes out physically.

Once he learns about his behaviour, Phil shares that Tommy also lashed out at his own mother Kat and the pair decide to take the lad to the Boxing Den.

While there, Phil notices that Alfie is still grimacing in pain and demands Alfie visit the hospital once Tommy has left.

The fan favourite is set for his share of worrying news next week after trying to help Tommy.

Alfie tries to distract himself by providing support to Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) who is debating about fighting for custody of Janine and Mick’s baby.

He agrees to meet the solicitor with Linda as Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) is quick to rubbish the idea along with George Knight.

Later, Tommy spots Alfie getting a cab to the hospital where he is given huge life-changing news.

Many fans are fearing the worst for the soap favourite and are sharing their own theories about what could be wrong with him.

According to one Reddit user, Alfie could be facing a major health issue and it could involve the return of his brain tumour or some form of neurological disease.

Alfie was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2015 but the storyline was seemingly dropped out of the blue when it was revealed as benign.

"My Alfie theory, since we know he has a dramatic storyline coming up and it seems to be linked to his health. I'm ignoring his brain tumour (ish) as the show has", the soap fan commented.

The viewer then proceeded to make a list of the clues suggesting Alfie may be suffering from a neurological condition.

"First a few months ago he dropped a glass in the Vic when working with Linda and brushed it off. This has happened at least twice."

"Second, he bumps into things. If you go back, whether it be the bar in the Vic or something on his stall, he seems rather clumsy."

"Thirdly, I've watched every episode of this show. Mistakes like his calling Freddie Bobby whilst in conversation simply don't happen in EastEnders. Not unless the show is live."

"Symptoms of some neurological problem I think. Possibly Parkinson's?"

Are they on to something?

2. Stalker behaviour escalates

Meanwhile, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) continues to tiptoe towards the firing line as Theo Hawthorne's obsession grows.

Stacey Slater has made it clear she's in no way interested in the creepy teacher played by William Ellis.

Theo was first introduced amid Freddie Slater's ADHD diagnosis storyline and has since taken a liking to Stacey and her family.

He began tutoring a pregnant Lily Slater for free, which meant that Stacey, Jean and the rest of the Slater clan became grateful for his involvement.

Little does anybody know that Theo is creeping up on Stacey over on Secret Cam under a fake name.

This resulted in him stalking Stacey in secret as he tries to convince her to give him a chance romantically despite her not feeling any sort of chemistry.

Coming up, Theo invites Stacey for a drink sensing her angst towards her upcoming viability assessment to check if she’s a suitable guardian to Lily’s baby.

A delusional Theo assumes it’s a date, and is later ruffled when Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) gate crashes.

Elsewhere, Stacey encourages Eve to move on with a new love interest of her own after she ignores her calls.

However, Eve claps back and insists Stacey should stop leading Theo on.

This prompts Stacey to later clarify her friendship with Theo but how will he react?

Viewers are growing increasingly concerned for Stacey's well-being as they speculate Theo will be taking things up a notch.

One of them wrote: "Do you think he will take Lily and Stacy hostage soon, possibly Lily goes into labour while held by Theo or is it too soon? I think she is due at the end of August."

Lily's pregnancy has recently been overshadowed by Theo's actions but could it be further impacted by him?

3. New villain in the making

Speaking more about the Slaters – is Kat's son Tommy heading towards trouble?

Fans of the London-based drama will remember that the young boy assaulted his mother in 2022 before being involved in a dramatic storyline during which he brutally attacked one of his bullies.

With Walford baddie Phil Mitchell being his main male influence, Tommy's behaviour has shocked many residents and viewers off-screen.

Could he become as troublesome as Ben Mitchell in his early days as he's set to lash out against Alfie Moon this week?

4. Eve's past comes back to haunt her

Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) is trying to move on after an ill-fated relationship with Suki Panesar.

Eve Unwin was heart-broken when Suki Panesar (portrayed by Balvinder Sopal) decided to end their affair once again after the pair had originally planned to run away together.

Jilted Eve was left in tatters but things appear to finally look up for her as a woman called Caz shows up in the café looking for her.

Suki is jealous when she overhears Caz and stops Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) sharing information on her whereabouts, assuming that she's a new love interest.

However, Eve takes matters into her own hands by heading over to the café herself and agrees to a date with her secret admirer – how will it play out?

Later on, Eve and Suki have an awkward encounter in the Minute Mart, but just as Eve is about to leave, Suki almost faints.

The businesswoman then dismisses her husband Nish and her son Vinny’s worries after her dizzy spell, insisting she is fine to work.

While at the Minute Mart, however, a worried Eve forces Suki to see the doctors.

Stacey pushes Eve to go on her date and lends her a new outfit to wear.

Eve's life prior to her move to the Square has been shrouded in mystery with fans wondering if they'll ever know more about her.

Due to this new major storyline, many of them have wondered if the women paying her a visit is emerging from her past.

Could Eve and the mystery lady have a link they know nothing about?

5. Love triangle in the Square

Bernie Taylor (portrayed by Clair Norris) is due to celebrate her birthday and Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) is ready to make her big day unforgettable.

Bobby takes the opportunity to ask his love interest Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) to help him arrange a surprise birthday party for Bernie in an attempt to get closer to the newcomer.

As mentioned above, Bobby has been very keen on getting to know Anna better since she first showed up in Walford – but his pal Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) could get in his way.

Anna agrees to help Bobby but she is unconvinced by his Cider, Cheese and Chess night.

This prompts her to recruit a down-trodden Freddie.

While he struggles to face it Freddie is later convinced by Anna after the pair have a heart-to-heart in The Vic about his father.

The pair bond over their shared experience of being let down by absent parents.

Regular viewers of the London-based program will remember that Freddie recently found out his father, Graham Foster, raped his mother Little Mo, which resulted in his birth.

Freddie struggled with his discovery and, despite wanting to bond with his father more than anything, he resorted to try and forget all about him out of love for his mother.

But while Freddie may appear interested in Anna, he ends up trying to play matchmaker between her and Bobby by bowing out of their party planning meeting.

Sadly, when Bobby tries to pretend he’s someone he’s not, Anna makes her own excuses and says she’s got to work.

In later scenes, Bernie’s birthday party is a roaring success but Bobby starts to worry that Anna may have feelings for Freddie.
