I turned IKEA's tiny step ladders into nifty dinner tables and chairs for my kids, people think my DIY skills are genius | The Sun

A DOTING mum has shared the genius way she uses step stools from IKEA for her two children.

Instead of forking out loads of money on a small table and chairs for her kids, @budgetingmum bought £25 TENHULT stools from the retailer.

“Watch how I use these IKEA stools in our house,” she started her simple clip, before revealing she’s the mother of a one year old and a three year old.

“They make the perfect little portable table and chairs…” she went on to say about the tiny stepladders.

The TikTok user added: “…as well as using them for a step so they can help with cooking and things to get up on the side."

In the caption, she wrote: “Ikea hack! These £25 Ikea stools are so useful in our house!

“As well as being a step for the kids to help with the cooking etc, they make the perfect little tables and chair!”

“No this is actually genius!! Rather than buying a chair and a table. This is brilliant!!! So many mums need to see this,” one person wrote.

Another shared their sweet idea as they said: “So cute! You could put them opposite each other and have a little dinner date”.

Thanking @budgetingmum, a fourth shared: “thanks cause my little one gates his highchaie and we look at getting a table and chairs but reality have the space this is perfect”. [sic]

“So much cheaper than a learning tower!” another exclaimed, to which the mum replied: “Absolutely! I’ve seen someone alter them too to make them have a frame like the learning tower x”.

A sixth warned: “Have you thought about removable slip mats for when it’s a stool? I would have totally fallen off as a kid, but that’s just me”.

The TikTok mum replied: “They’re never unsupervised”.
