DURING her workout, a woman was shocked when an employee expressed concerns about her outfit.
Though she was wearing leggings, the customer was dress-coded and had to change – and she had a shocking theory about why.
Brittany Sims recounted the incident on TikTok, where she didn't disclose the name of the gym where it occurred.
According to Sims, the encounter with gym staff was a total surprise. She showed the purple leggings and hooded jacket she'd been wearing.
"POV: Getting dress coded at the gym for wearing gym attire at the gym," she wrote in the video's caption.
But it was the theory about her reprimand Sims shared in the video description that really caught viewers' attention.
She said that being called out for the outfit she wore only happens "when your glutes are apparently a threat to the gym owner’s wife."
Shocked viewers couldn't believe that Sims would get in trouble for the full-coverage outfit.
"This isn’t bad AT ALL," one viewer wrote. "Some girls on here look like they are going to the club!"

"I had seen someone else saying that it was the owner’s wife being jealous as well," they shared.
The commenter also reassured Sims about her clothing choices. "There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this fit!" they wrote.
Stories of uneven dress code enforcement filled the comments, and it didn't seem Sims was the only person who'd been judged by a jealous partner.
"I had a girl at the front desk stop me from checking in because I was wearing a sports bra and needed to 'cover up,'" one woman wrote.
But more information cleared things up. "Turns out she had a crush on my boyfriend who regularly went to the gym without me before I met him."
A few commenters played devil's advocate but were quickly shut down.
"Leggings aren't pants," harrumphed a finicky commenter.
"You must be the gym owner's wife," joked a different viewer in response, laughing at the prudish response.
Sims took time to respond, too, writing, "Jeans at the gym is the way huh?" with several laughing emojis.

Though dress codes for gyms aren't out of the ordinary, one viewer pointed out the rules at Sims' gym would be hard to enforce consistently.
"There’s going to be plenty more pretty girls with nice bodies," the commenter wrote. "They’re going to dress code all of them?"
